Living in the past... Best N64 games help

I recently purchased a used Nintendo 64. I thought I'd ask you all what you all thought the best Nintendo 64 games are.

I'm more into RPG and Platform type games.

I've beaten these games (and thoroughly enjoyed all of them)
1. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (awesome)
2. Zelda: Majora's Mask (didn't like as much as Ocarina)
3. Mario 64 (fantastic)
4. Donkey Kong 64 (took a long time to beat and loved it, but not too challenging)

These are the games I've been considering next:
1. Conkers bad Fur Day
2. Banjo - Kazooie
3. Banjo - Tooie
4. Paper Mario

I'm sure there are some awesome ones I'm missing. I've looked around for some of the "best of" lists, but all the reviews are at the time when the game came out, I'd like a nice 20/20 hindsight vision of the best N64 games.

Thanks!

Wave Race 64 and Pilotwings 64. Games that came out early but remained one of the bests.

You'll like the Banjo Games if you liked Mario 64 and DK64.

Mario Kart is a good game too, Paper Mario was o.k., not great.

Your choices are good. Paper Mario is a great RPG. In addition to matrixrok9's suggestions (as they are good ones) don't forget:

Best Bets:
Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Super Mario 64
Blast Corps
Ogre Battle 64
Rayman 2

You might like:
Diddy Kong Racing
Rocket - Robot On Wheels
Star Wars Rogue Squadron
1080 Snowboarding
Excitebike
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

Sleeper Hits:
Body Harvest
Space Station Silicon Valley
Beetle Adventure Racing

Paper Mario and Conker are excellent. Both Banjo games are good. Other good games include...

Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Ogre Battle 64
Jet Force Gemini
Mario Kart
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
1080
Excitebike
Beetle Adventure Racing

...and lots of others. You might want to check out the reviews at IGN to get a general idea what these games are like.

Thanks for everyones input! This will help a lot.

Kellehair - I did check out IGN for their reviews and that's where I noticed some of the games, the only thing that I was worried about was that all of the reviews were written when the game(s) came out, and I wanted them to stand the test of time so to speak. That's why I thought I'd ask everyone what they thought.

Thanks again.

Numes: I know. I just didn't want to explain what all the games on my list are about. If you don't know what a game is all about then IGN is a pretty good place to get an idea. IGN is often a bad source when determining whether or not a game is good however.

Gotcha. Should have read your original post more carefully

I agree, the screenshots are nice, and the descriptions of the games are also nice. Thanks again.

I always liked Shadows of the Empire. Am I in the minority?

Goldeneye for sure.

I second some already mentioned:

Waverace 64
Mario Kart 64
Mario Golf
Mario Tennis
Banjo-Kazooie
Jet Force Gemini - very different and unique game
Blast Corps. - again very different game. I was hooked
Have to add:
Tetrisphere - was addicting for a while
F-Zero X
Starfox 64 was fun for a while as well

And at this point isn't it a given that Goldeneye and Nintendo 64 should always be mentioned together like peanut butter and jelly?

Star Fox, Star Fox, Star Fox..... i can not beleive this has only been metioned once!

I have yet to find a linear flying game that was as fun, easy, and diverse as this game.

Lots of replay value if you waste your time getting all the medals for each planet like i did!

A lot of great suggestions. I will second Pilotwings 64 since it only got one mention. It remains one of my absolute favorites.

The first stage is fanboy bliss, but then it's just more of the same with a Star Wars setting. It was my first N64 game btw.

As for the original poster, don't know if you like puzzle games but
Spoiler:
Pokemon
Puzzle League is hella cool, esp with 2 players.

No Mercy is a GREAT wrestling game, if you're into wrestling.

Why they haven't made an update using this engine is beyond me (I know about Def Jam, but I want a real update! )

Mario Kart, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Mario Tennis are excellent four-player games. I personally didn't care for Diddy Kong Racing or Starfox.
