It's a good thing his son didn't chew that piece of whole wheat bread into the shape of a gun at school. He would've gotten suspended under the "zero tolerance" policy.

Well, unless you are some god-child of the universe or jebus or something then your opinion is just that as well, an opinion. Whether based in fact or fallacy, it is still only an opinion, a subjective view of an issue.

To go along the lines of the NAMBLA analogy, take a look at "Age of Consent" laws in different states. Most people have an opinion of when people should legally be able to have sex, but when? Is it 18 (AZ)? 14 (HI)? If you think people aren't ready until 17 does that make more than half the states wrong? Or does it make you wrong? Neither, because one is objective (it is the law in ME, NH and NJ) and one is entirely subjective. (thank you to TwinTracker.com!)

And I hardly think that causally linking video games and violence is entirely ignorant behaviour -- there have been many studies that do seem to indicate such a link as well as many that show there is little to no link. To poop all over this guy's parade because your world views happen to clash with his could be viewed as fairly ignorant as well.

And I hope no one further confuses this discussion with political correctness (isn't that dog dead yet?), it has nothing to do with saying that joltaddict, or anyone else, cannot express his opinion, just that in the grand scheme of things their opinion will probably mean no more (and perhaps in this issue, certainly less) than the author of that piece.

Can you do it? Yes. But, it's a very small, small portion of a very big game. You don't have to do it, it's not intregal to the progression of the game. If no one told you about it, you might never even discover it. I can't tell you how many times I've seen threads here saying "how do you get the prostitutes in GTA3 to do the nasty?" You don't even get points for doing it, the prostitutes take the money you have, and if you kill them, you get it back.

I've played probably over 200 hours of GTA3 and Vice City, and I've done the prostitute trick maybe three times. I know I only did it once in Vice City, just to see if they took it out. In GTA3, I showed a few people, and did it once just to see it -- but it's really a dumb trick, and there are better, quicker, and easier ways to get health.
For some reason, I can't get the little trick to work. I get one in the car, drive off to a hidden location, but nothing happens? What am I doing wrong.

I just read this article. I have one thing to say:

That must have been the suckiest home to grow up in! Imagine having a Dad that was such a wuss! Worried about teaching him violence by wrestling with his kid. What a tool.
