Metroid is very cool, and I just bought a bunch of games at Half.com with the $15 coupon. I've heard Advance Wars is fun!

I'm sure the afterburner is the best solution for the poor lighting, but I just bought my GBA, and the Gamester Flood Light is a LOT better than my old Worm Light. It was only 14 bucks at Walmart, so try that out for lighting problems before you plop down 60 bucks for the installed Afterburner.

As far as batteries? Eveready NIMHs work just fine.....

Different strokes for different folks.

I'm not a graphics whore, and just care about playing fun games. I generally have more fun with old school 2D games than with 3D games, and the GBA is the only system getting new old-school 2D games like Castlevania and Metroid, so it gets a lot more than "10 minutes here, 20 minutes there" from me.

That's how my little brother feels. He doesn't know how great 2D games are because he's too young to remember the gaming greatness from back in the day. The SNES is probably the best system ever IMO and the GBA is more of the same. There's old favorites like Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, and Metroid as well lots of great new games like Advance Wars, Golden Sun, and others.

I'm old! I had the Atari 2600 at launch and played it like crazy. I also had a few of the hand-held sports games where your players were represented by little red blips. Both were fun, but the latter was still just a time killer.

When I sit down to play an Xbox game that's my focus. When I play my GBA it's usually while I wait to do something else.

If you're into it, more power to ya.......
