www.redoctane.com

shipping is ridiculous though...I ordered some lime green ones and grinch green ones from www.inetdvd.com though and should have them about a week...I have a hunch that the gougers on ebay are really selling lime green cases because inetdvd seems to have the full amaray spectrum and the cases themselvs are not special like the PS2 and Gamecube cases that have memory slot holders and such

Let us know the results of you inetdvd.com experiment. I was also tempted to buy a couple of each to see what was the closest, but never got around to it.

Also may want to check you local Blockbuster as it was reccommended to me in another thread to ask there.

thanks for the links!

some ebayers might be scalpers, but i think that some may work at rental stores, allot of auctions say "brand new, from rental, never used, near mint"

the other day the guy at BBV said "we though out the isntructions and the cases"

so some people maybe reselling them!

ok, my order came in, and let me tell you....not only are the Lime Green cases NOT xbox cases, they are about the most hideous color I've ever seen....like green laffy taffy, yuck.

There is no translucency like original xbox cases and they are very bright. Grinch Green is a much closer match, but still not quite the originals.

D'oh!

I stupidly just threw at least a half dozen XBox green cases in the trash a couple of weeks ago. Relative works at Blockbuster and she brought a bunch of empty amaray cases home including the XBox ones.

I knew that I would never use the green ones for DVD repalcement cases, so I thought: "What the heck are these good for?" and threw them away.

I'll send the message that they're wanted and will keep them around if you want to pay the postage to get them to you.

Currently she's in the process of scoring all the inserts for the previously-viewed DVDs that I bought without the inserts included which she's finding in back rooms and random cases on rental display shelves. She's also keeping recent releases inserts for me before the rest are thrown in the trash, she's already brought home Signs & Minority Report inserts.

She checks all the previewed DVDs before buying them with her discount, so we usually end up with like-new and almost-perfect copies which we then switch out of the BB cases into the amaray cases she saved from the trash and put in the inserts she's finding. Voila! We're averaging around $6-$7 per DVD with employee and Blockbuster discounts.

E-mail me some time and I'll let you know if she's brought
any cases home.
