Weakest ending in a game?

I just beat Medal of Honor: Frontline and I thought the ending sucked. It's a great game, but a 45 sec. commercial for the next installment? Please-where's the payoff?

Anyone else fell cheated by bad endings?

I can't for the life of me remember the name of the game, but there was some fairly good/long RPG back on the old Commodore 64 that after you spent a month playing it to beat it, you were granted 1 screen of text as congratulations. Talk about a let down!

I was fairly peeved when I recently beat Jak and Daxter. Spent a good few days playing that, beat it (fairly lame ending), then went back and collected the remaining power orbs and was thoroughly pissed at how lame an ending *that* was.

7th Saga, hands down.

Not only is it one of the more difficult RPGs ever made. At the start of the game you are sent on a quest by a king. At the end of the game you get sent back in time only to be that king and send yourself on the quest..... worst POS ending ever.

I thought MGS 2 had a pretty weak ending. After having to sit through all those codec conversations towards the end I thought it should have ended better.

Any game that "rewards" you for winning by listing the credits. Oh. Wow. Thanks.

Hmmm...just about every game ever made? Memorable endings are hard to come by. Check out The Video Game Museum for a lot of game ending screen caps.

IIRC that was how most of th C-64 RPGs ended back in the day.

All the MOH series games had horrible endings. Standard Mission End movie and then return to the Main Menu... no end movie.. not even rolling credits. Awful

Also MGS 2 ending completely blew IMO.

Add to the list Zone of the Enders. One of the worst endings ever.
Spoiler:
I mean you lose to the last boss for crying out loud and then the game ends.
What a crappy ending.

I liked that ending! It was one of the better ones in the NES days.

Maybe you were too young to play the original on the nintendo?

Ah.. the Playstation generation. Where cutscenes and endings are more important than the game.

Man people here are complaining about ending when back in the 8-bit days it was mostly just text? I remember that Ninja Gaiden had some cheezy cinematics but back then it was the bomb. And the first time I saw Ys Book I & II for the PC Engine...OMG I nearly pissed in my pants....

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

The ending basically outlines the plot for a sequel, yet I've read that there are no plans for a sequel. Talk about a let down.
