X-Box Ripping Songs Question

Can the X-Box rip songs off a CD-R? Probably a stupid question but I don't know the answer.

I have one of the new xboxs and I couldn't get it to rip off 5 different brands of cd-r. I just got a couple cd-rw and they work fine.

How new? And how can you tell which drive you have other than burning discs and trying it out? I bought my XBox in mid-September a few weeks before the bundle started.

Since it was within 30 days, I hope you returned it and bought one with the bundle!

At first I was pissed. I got the free DVD remote(whoopee, I already have a great DVD player). But I had already bought an S controller when they came out to use at a friends. That is the only thing that interested me in the bundle. I couldn't return it, I cut the UPC for the stupid Remote rebate. GRRR M$!

I use a Memorex CDRW 80 Min. This works perfectly well in my Xbox.

I sold many Cd's and I left many songs I liked in my computer and when I want to transfer music to the xbox I use the Brand described above.

Now when you burn the disc to use in the XBox does it have to be an audio(.wav/.aiff) format, or can you take a cd full of MP3's and just transfer them over like files?

create an audio cd, not a mp3 cd. I use nero to burn the audio cds since it doesn't require you to convert to .wavs and then burn.
