I recently got Ninja Assault from Best Buy, and for those who don't know it's a blue disc, which my system is starting to have trouble with. It can play the majority of blue disc games, but Ninja Assault won't even load... the system doesn't recognize it as a game. I don't wanna try the tape method, because I'm afraid that I might mess up the game, and be out $60, I just wanna return it and get another game... but I've already opened it, and I know their policy is that if it's opened I can only exchange for the same title, but I'm thinking the same title might not work either. If I bring it back and explain this to them, would I be able to get store credit? Or am I gonna have to go through some weird run around in which I return it, get an unopened copy, and then return it again?

Did you try calling Sony's customer support? If you're polite but firm you might be able to squeeze a free repair out of them. At the very least they might be able to recomend a fix for you for the time being.

Another thing you might try is if you can't bring it back to Best Buy try unloading it on Ebay.

yep, run around method... but have to return unopened copy to another store (wal-mart maybe) Because when you go back to BB, they'll want a receipt and then from those #'s they'll see the history...

Yes, go back and tell them what you said above. Tell them that you bought this game and it doesn't work! They'll take it back.
