Interesting. So how much playtime does it take to unlock all the weapons?
You can do specific tasks in the Quick Missions to inlock the special weapons, read the doeiser and unlock all the special guns
I notice you can enter in cheat codes, can that unlock weapons at all?
Does anyone know what the paper and chicken mode cheats do? The only "usefull" cheat you can unlock is slow motion, but then you take away all the fun!
As of yet, i have not seen any working "god" codes on the gamefaq.com message boards.

I have all of the weapons unlocked and I unlocked a couple of maps for Defend mode last night. Those are pretty easy using Ibrihim (sp?) and the M98. You can bump his stealth up to max (or close to it) and sneak by most everyone.
I made it to the farm map extraction site without firing a shot or being noticed. In order to get the required hit percentage, I ran back to a house, popped a guy in the head and ran back to the extraction site. The mission with the bridge was harder simply because the bridge is the only way across and there were a bunch of bad guys on it. I ended up getting a perfect hit percentage and took 12 of 'em out. From there it was just sneaking to the extraction point.
If I can ever tear myself away from the single player game, I'll play online. I'm at 27/50 on the unlockable list and it's becoming an obsession.

I realize that techanically your hit percent is ZERO... but i guess the idea is that you did a very good job if you didnt have to kill anyone.
The embassy is a very hard one to do on recon, i needed to kill about 9 guys to finish that one... but i ket my % high enough.
It is a shame they could have made 15 more tasks if they made you play each level on defend.

A few questions:
What additional weapons get unlocked? What do those weapons do?
If someone who unlocks all the weapons and hosts a game on LIVE, will the unlocked weapons be available to all players regardless of whether or not they unlocked the weapons on their own?
What if the host hasn't unlocked the additional weapons, will the non-host players who have unlocked the weapons, have access to them?

I know on the snipers ones you unlocked, the M98 is the gun of choice since it has a nice clip size of 10 bullets and seems more powerful so you hit ppl at longer distances. There's another sniper gun w/ a 20 bullet clip which is cool too. I dont know whether the unlock guns give anyone an unfair advantage or not. I wish there was a good faq about the weapons and stuff. If someone who has unlocked the weapons hosts, does the other players get access? NO. You unlocking weapons only affects you. If the host hasn't unlocked all the weapons and YOU have, when you play, you will still have access to them.
I think if you unlock maps and host, then ppl. have access during that game. I have played some maps that I know I did not unlocked. I have unlocked different modes like "cat and mouse" and have hosted those games. I never asked those who played if they had to unlock it to play or not. I just figure they didn't need to.

with regards to the sniper rifles, they do vary in "power" the m91 is the most powerful, sometimes it will shot through 3 guys if they are close enough!
the 20 shot clip is nice on the lesser gun
the silenced rifle is just about worthless!
