Playstation 2 Controller

Has anyone had any problems with their controller?
I just bought a new Sony PLaystation 2 controller. I have been using it for several days now and when I got up from my couch I zapped it (Static). This happened to one of my other controllers. It seems to be to the left of the L1 button. Once I got a zap from it, it no longer works. This is 2 controllers I have gone through now. I just wanted to know if this has happened to one of you. Please let me know if it has. I really don't need to know that I need anti-static guards, or other stuff liek that.

Thanks for your replys.

Well, if it's just a few days old go and exchange it where you bought it.

Also, try grounding yourself before touching electronic equipment. Touch a table or something before grabbing your stick.

I usually do that anyway, just to keep my balance.

I usually have to touch a table to keep my balance after I have finished grabbing my stick.
