Q: Xbox (Live) and Linksys
I just bought a Linksys Wireless Access Bridge (WET11)
and a Wireless Access Point Router with 4-Port Switch.
so that I can replace my 1-port DSL router and seperate 5-port hub, as well as hook up my Xbox Live without draping cables across the apartment.
Has anyone run into probems with this setup?

Linksys has a $10 mail-in rebate for each item I listed - I didn't know the WET11 had one until I checked the Linksys site.
Best Buy - Wireless Router & Switch - $109
CompUSA - Bridge - $129
Total $238.00
less 2x $10 rebate
Total $218 + tax
Amazon has them for $94.99 and $100 respectively.
So $195 - $20 rebate = $175 with no sales tax.
Think I've got me some returnin' to do. Xbox Live can wait.

So you could then hookup a GameCube?
That's probably not what Linksys intended.

GENIOUS!

The WET11 just serves as a method for connecting wired ethernet devices to your wireless network. It doesn't care if you connect a hub, PS2, Xbox, etc to it.
I guess there is room on the hub for a GameCube, but I have enough to keep me busy for now.

moyam, if you don't mind running the cable from your router to your Xbox, then stick with your current router. Otherwise you will have to buy a new wireless router and wireless access point, which will probably run a little under $200 total.

I was going to get a cable internet connection & they only have 1 connection, so is this what I would need? My PC is on the 2nd floor & the Xbox is in the basement. Would the signal travel better either way (router in basement or 2nd floor). I thought I'd put it upstairs so the PC can connect directly. Is there any signal interrupt at all? My cordless phone has a problem finding channels sometimes in my house, so I just hope this wouldn't. So with the Xbox Live kit, we're talking $250.
