Well, I went on ahead and bought my Xbox and Xbox Live from EBgames.com. I got free shipping and no tax. Best Buy and Circuit City kept charging me $21 in taxes.

I went ahead and bought and XBox, and extra controller, XBox Live starter kit, and a WaveBird GameCube controller for $330. That got me $66 in MSN Dollars, plus the $30 mail-in gift card. I bought the controllers because they aren’t allowing games to be bought online and then picked up.

I've already bought Metroid Prime, Resident Evil Zero, Splinter Cell, MechAssault, and Castlevania HoD from target. I'm considering returning them and re-buying them off CircuitCity.com to get another $46 in MSN Dollars. I'd have to have them shipped though.

Too bad I'll you have to wait until Feb. to use the MSN credit, but it's understandable why they're doing it that way. They don't want people buying a bunch of stuff, spending the MSN credit and then returning the original purchases.

By the way, got the MSN cash up to $70 because I needed another controller and the Advanced A pack. Went to target and they wanted $20 so I went home and ordered it online from circuit city.

So far I must say the xbox is pretty impressive. Halo is fun, though I think highly overrated. Ghost Recon is a blast and I haven't even tried it on live yet.

Halo gets better as you play through it. I liked it, but I think there have been plenty of good FPS games that walk all over it. The big deal is that it's the best FPS ever to grace a console (IMO - I'm sure some would argue that Goldeneye is) and the controls are tight and it's easy to aim and it's just fun... Once you encounter the *****(word masked on purpose so I don't give away a spoiler), you'll see how cool Halo is. People who were used to PC FPS games were pissed first of all cuz Halo was originally due for the PC... second of all they were skeptical that anything could substitute for a mouse and keyboard. Halo made it an easy transition which is why I think it's so popular.

I have to default to my "put it on Heroic" speech... Slammer, you're definitely talented enough for Heroic, although you may already have it switched on...

I've enjoyed the handful of FPS that I've played, but Halo is something else. Goldeneye never grabbed me like Halo and I loved that game. I'm way more interested in checking out the PC ports that are headed to the Xbox now.

GP, I am az jules. Ghost Recon is a blast, I have been playing it all morning. Just trying to get better. The sniping isn't as bad as I thought, the levels are way better than socom. I need to get a couple xbox live games going and see what it is like. Wiggum, you gonna be on today?

can someone help me. I checked the website and saw a $60 rebate if I bought the xbox bundle + some altec speakers, but no rebate. Did I miss the deal?

I haven't picked up Ghost Recon yet. I need to finish Metroid Prime and Halo first. That and Live are coming soon though. :D
