Why did Acrophobia shut down?
I've been trying to do some research just to find out precisely what happened and why the original acrophobia went down. For some reason, the info seems hard to obtain.
Can anyone here in their own words , tell me or give me a timeline of why the beloved Acrophobia shut down. The only thing i know is some vague coments about disagreements at flipside.
Any info would be great. I truly miss the old Acophobia. Sigh
And yes, I Play Acrochallenge.Good, but just not the same.

I think Sierra dumped the games after they dumped Berkley Systems, who had some relation to Jellyvision, the folks who made the You Don't Know Jack games, which also seem to have disappeared. I'd blame the Tri-lateral Commision for the whole mess...
I beta tested a number of games on www.bezerk.com, including Acro, Get the Picture, YDKJ Online, and the one where you moved aliens up steps and had to guess the most popular answer, what was that one?

Was it "What's the Big Idea?" I remember the point was to answer questions the way other people answered them and get in the top percentile or something. I usually just went with what I knew other people would say rather than what I thought cuz I don't usually enjoy the things everyone else does, but I tend to know what it is they enjoy instead.
I was looking for Acrophobia the other day even... where can I find Acrochallenge?

I found this old videoclip (sniffs) Man i miss this game. This clip really gives me chills.
In fact is it me or online gaming such as acrophobia, ntn trivia, you don't know jack was better 10 years ago. You think with technology, online pc gaming (consoles aside) should be better now. i don't know. Thoughts?
Check out this video clip here.

I still loved that game.
Get the picture, as I noted before was really fun. It was a kind of pictionary type game,IIRC.
The one with the pyramid where you guess popular answers was fun as well.
I wish they could be brought back online. I also wish my YDKJ games would work on modern pcs.

They filed th serial numbers off, but you can still play it here:
http://www.acrochallenge.com/
Not quite as polished a presentation as the Bezerk version, but the gameplay is the same.
