My son is 3 and has Halo down! Yeah the game is violent but it is not much worse than power rangers shooting bad guys. I discuss everything with him and he seems ok as long as he is a good guy and not a bad guy. Now GTA3/VC on the other hand I would never let him play. There is NO hero and it is all about violence for gain. Add to this the excess blood and horrible language and you truly have a game that young kids should not play IMO. Each parent has their own level but I can tell you that my son won't get into the totally kiddie games very much. I try to watch the language and sexual content most and then the violence and whether it is a hero thing or just bad. He won't be playing Max Payne or DTR either.

My son watches Friends, CNN and the Evening News. He sees more sex and violence on TV than in any video game. All kids are different and I think parents know how much of anything their own child can handle. The language used in GTA III is no different than the language used at recess on the playground. My kids are well behaved and get straight A's. I can't ask for more than that. We attend Mass every Sunday morning and frag almost every Sunday afternoon. PEACE!
