Okay, forgive me for not understanding. I don't know why I would have to alter the connection in Control Panel if the cable would not even be connected to the computer (It would just be connected to the Xbox and cable modem. Well, it would be interchanged between the Xbox and my computer. Like, when I want to play Xbox Live I would take the cable out of the computer and put it into the Xbox, and when I want to use the computer it would be taken out of the Xbox and put into the computer.) Am I being dumb or something?? I just don't understand. Could you help me? :) Thanks!!

No, Im just saying if it doesnt autodetect you may need to put in the settings. But its not very hard because its already sitting in your PC. Worst case senerio you just copy that.

Yes, 5e cable will work but 100ft is a pretty long run.

I know it's long, but I can't afford a wireless solution yet. Will there be a loss of quality(is that the word?) if the cable is too long? Is 100ft too long? TIA.

Solid copper Cat5 is for making long runs. Short cabling is often stranded copper and tends to degrade signal faster over longer distances. Solid copper is superior but doesn't stand up well to being bent repeatedly. You dont want to use solid if its the cable you roll up and stick in your laptop bag. ;) If youre buying a 100 ft run its most likely solid.

Changing Voice Channels in UC

In UC how do you change voice channels from say CH1 to CH2? And I would assume this would be the same in GR (I haven't played that live yet, so I'm not sure if that is the case or not). TIA.
