Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon on XBOX

Anyone play this? How is it on XBOX? How good is it on PC? Basically I'm looking for good 4-player games, as shown with my other thread about the very subject. How does it compare to SOCOM?

It's not out yet for the Xbox. I think 11/19 is the release date.

SOCOM is a cheap immitation of the Clancy games... I've played the Ghost Recon demo like a million years ago on PC and I remember being somewhat impressed. I plan to pick this up, but with Splinter Cell coming out, I have a feeling this one will disappear from the scope.

I've never been a fan of the methodical style of games like Ghost Recon, but it will be a great game to compete with Socom until Raven Shield and Counter-Strike is released.

Also, it's been pushed up to the release of XBox Live. It should ship on November 12th.

Ghost Recon is fairly complex. I played a little bit on the pc and you have to go through training missions, etc.

I read that SOCOM is easier to just pick it up and play. Which one you like probably depends on how much of a simulation you want.

I've played through Ghost Recon +all the expansion packs
it's truly an awesome game,
I love the fact that all your squad members gain experience
after each mission depending kills and stuff
when they become more skillful you don't have to baby sit them
as much.
and the graphics and gameplay is ages beyond the Rainbow 6 series

yes this game is all about tatics but instead of having to paln out an entire mission like in R6, you issue commands to your team member in real time

from what I've read, the XBOX version will support a co-op mode, that should be a very cool

I might just pick this up because I was never able to truely enjoy
the graphic splenders of the game because my PC is a little outdated

My PC could not handle this game as well, but was interested in this game when I learned that it was a tactical shooter similar to R6 without all the pre-planning before each stage. I'm glad it's finally around the corner.

It looks like (from the magazines and websites I've read) 1-16 players over Xbox live. On the PC the max for co-op is 5 IIRC, and I assume it's the same for the Xbox version. It looks like there will be a 2-player split-screen multiplayer mode, and a provision for system link. I have not been able to find out what multiplayer modes will work over system link, but I assume the same as Xbox live. It's really hard to find answers to these questions until the game comes out. I keep finding sites with info for the PC version.

1. SOCOM = Special Operations Command

http://www.socom.mil/

or the title to the PS2 game SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/4387.asp

2. On the PC version you can switch from 1st person to 3rd person.
