The problem I have is that flying past cars on the road, its hard to differentiate between similar looking vehicles. With any luck - I'll find it quick - I really hate that Virgo.

that was my biggest problem next to what i posted above......err...on page 3

I tried that....its never around there...I'm thinking thats the location next to your hideout, which randomly places a car there every time. It was never the Esperanto for me .

I've almost always found one in the parking lot behind the stadium. YMMV.

It took me forever for the Esperanto. Finally found it and wrecked. What I do then is run around to find another. It appears as the most common car on the road is the one you are/were driving. The second one is easiest to find.

Last night was the admiral, I kept jacking Washingtons!!

Tonight is hopefully list 3

It was never the Esperante on the north for me either. Usually a cab or Idaho.

For the Esperante:
Spoiler:
I found it driving on the main Prawn Island road. It seems to appear late at night.

The lists amazingly get easier as you go along. I've finished all four, and none took me as long as the first one, and the last two took almost no time at all.

The third list cars can all be found on Starfish Island if you look in all the driveways and watch the traffic. Since it's right by Sunshine Autos, this list takes no time at all. The only car I didn't pick up in a driveway was the cheetah, and I found that one driving around while driving another sports car.

On the fourth list, the Ice Cream truck seems to only appear at the Cherry Popper Ice Cream factory, and only if you've purchased it. The Cuban Hermes cruises the Cuban area of Vice City constantly, and the voodoo cruises the Haitian area. The rest are always found in their "proper" locations.

The only advice I have for the other two lists is just to do them concurrently, using the Sunshine Auto garages to store the second list cars. Be patient, the cars are no harder to get than many of the cars on the Import/Export garages in GTA3. Also, some of the cars on the second list look very similar, so if you see a car you think you already have, jack it anyway, just to make sure. I also recommend jacking and indentifying any car that you don't recognise -- you might think the car you're looking for looks different than it actually does.

Finished "Checkpoint Charlie" after about four runs today. My advice:
Spoiler:

Take the boat with the spoiler. Though the boat with the big engine is easier to control and looks faster, it's way too slow to do this mission.

Remember that without gas, the boat doesn't steer worth a damn. It's very counter-intuitive, but lay on the throttle early on, and never let off unless you absolutely have to -- and that should be very, very rarely.

I used the first person view, as it's easier to tell if you're lined up properly for jumps and checkpoints. Don't rely on it to spot checkpoints, though. Learn to rely on the radar. I used the radar to get the initial turns, and only used the actual view once I was lined up with the checkpoint.

Again, hammer the throttle. You cannot steer without it, and the boat handles well enough at top speed that you should never have to slow down to avoid anything. If you're having a very hard time with this mission, try running it once without ever letting off the throttle. I had to do that once to drill into my head that the boat doesn't need to slow down -- and incidentally, that's when I won it.... with 45 seconds to spare.

Bugger. I keep forgetting things.

Regarding the Cherry Popper business, do not under any circumstances, use it's save point. Apparently, it has a bug that occasionally corrupts saved games. It's just not worth the risk to use.

Also, to get the business making money, you have to sell 50 "treats" without ever exiting the truck. It's not hard, just find a pay and spray and run into it whenever you earn a star (about every five to ten sales). Don't sell in the gang areas either. If you hear gunshots, haul ass and don't look back and don't sell in that area anymore. I found the best business to be over near the original save point (and there's a pay and spray nearby too).

If you get the message "no paying customers in this area", try moving a bit and trying again -- the people who want to buy what you're selling are totally random. One second they'll be interested in buying, and if you move, they won't be. Conversely, sometimes a whole crowd won't be tempted, but if you move ten feet and stop again, they'll flock to your truck like true crack addicts.

I also only stop when I see crowds of people. No sense stopping for one sale, and if there's no one around, there's no one to buy either.

I just came looking for this thread and it was the last one on the board. It'd be a shame for this to disappear.

Very good point Kellehair.

Can anything be done with the Rifle Range?

A Malibu mission takes place there, and you can also do the shooting range challenge separately. If you make a high enough score, you no longer have to wait to reload your gun.

Cool thanks Captain - I'll have to try that out.

Spoiler:
I presume I just walk in with a rifle to try it out then, correct?

Spoiler:

Just to be clear, we're talking about two different things here:
1) The Shooter: This is the Malibu mission. You get the mission like all the other Malibu missions from a pink mission marker in the Malibu club. It sends you to the Ammu-nation shooting range to do a mission. The mission involves going through three rooms, trying to beat a certain score. It isn't really hard. I think it's the 2nd of the 4 Malibu missions.

2) The shooting range: This mission takes place only in the 1st room of the shooting range. There's a pink mission marker in the room, just like any other mission. Just walk into it. I don't know if the mission only appears after you do the Malibu mission or not... that's when I did it, anyway. This mission is really hard, or at least it was for me. You have to beat a certain percentage, but if you do so, you don't ever have to reload (that rocks on the rockets launcher... rapid fire rockets). It took me about 20 tries... if you fail, just run out of the room and run back in... the pink glowing marker will reappear. One tip: there are three targets, each made up of 5 squares... one head square, and 4 body squares. The closest target is worth one point. The middle target is worth two points. And the farthest target is worth three. To beat this mission, you have to focus on getting the farthest target as many times as possible. My advice is to shoot out the four body squares on the closest target... otherwise, it will block your shots as it moves back and forth. As long as you don't shoot the head on the close target, the other squares won't come back.

The gun you're going to be using is the Python (Magnum), but it switches to the 1st person view for these missions. There's no autotargeting or zooming, so it's basically a single fire assault rifle.

When I was checking my game status in the pause menu, I noticed a header that said stores knocked off, 0 of 15. Does anyone know how to do this?

Go into a store (health, clothing, jewelry, ect) and stick up the clerk keep your gun on him and he'll cough up 3-4 stacks of money but by the time it's over you'll have 3 stars and cops waiting outside so have a get-a-way plan ready

Are there any savepoints you can buy that are near one of the guys you get a mission from? For example, what is the nearest savepoint for the cuban gang leader? It seems like all the safehouses are pretty far away from a mission point and dont seem worth getting.

If you only buy one safe house, buy Hyman Condos. 3 garages, helicopter, and it's in a good location. The Cubans and Haitans are right up the highway and there are other missions in the area later. Once you can buy businesses you'll have save points all over too.
