Even the rounds that I have bested a previous long drive 381, I still received nothing.
I believe they don't happen during Tiger Challenge matches just during stoke/match/tournament play when you are playing against a CPU player.

I've noticed it whenever I play Tournaments, but I think it comes up just about any time you play 18 holes and there is competition. On one hole they will have a long drive challenge with the winner getting $2500 and on one par 3 they will have a closest to the pin contest worth $2500. They announce the challenge before you start the hole and they show the results so you know if you've won.

This game is getting very tedious for me now. I need a major plot twist or something to keep me entertained.

I bought this game as it was on sale at $24.99. And on my very first hole I get a hole in one! Woohoo!! Next hole's a bogey. And the 3rd's another hole in one!!! Ofcourse, everything was uphill after that. I'm finding it hard to putt well. I guess its time to read the manual : )

Yeah, when I rented this, like my second or third whole to play I got a hole-in-one. It may have been during the tutorial at the beginning. Nevertheless, that didn't last long Haven't had one since.

Where is it for $25? I'm going to get Links 2003 for the computer since I find this a bit too arcadey, but it'd be ok to pick up for when people come over.

I've completed like 82% of the game. I beat all the Tiger challenges and am slowly working on the tournaments and scenarios but like I said, it's starting to get pretty boring at this point.

I do think I've gotten my $50 worth out of the game though.

I right about where you are in the game and I still have alot of enjoyment with it. Beating Tiger was a bit anti-climatic for me as I beat him on the first try but it took me almost a week to beat "Ace". But soon as I clear all the scenarios I plan on going back and getting golds in the ones I have slivers and bronzes in. Like you said I think I've gotten my $50 out of this as well and I still think I have a ways to go before I am bored with it.

The more I think about it, I'm not so sure if it was Ace or the Predator that was giving me the problem. I think I might lean more toward the course as it is one that you really need to learn to be good on.

So I picked this game up for $24.98 at Sam's Club yesterday. Mostly from the talk in this thread and a friends recommendation. I never got Outlaw golf because it only had 3 courses. This sounds like it will fill my needs.

This was asked earlier, but does the GC version differ that much from the Xbox? If I can save $10 by getting the Cube version I might. How does the control/graphics compare?

If you guys have decent computers, you can get Links 2003 + all the course addons for $50 total now I noticed. I believe that's over 20 courses, and the game is better IMO.

Controls are similar and graphics are about the same. Xbox has Progressive scan and DD 5.1. Don't know if the game really benefits any from DD 5.1 though.

so basically, no difference. I saw a site that said the only difference was extra grass blades in the rough. Looks like I can save $20 then... unless I need a new memory card...then it's a toss up.

I imagine there should be a price drop on this title soon or at least a sale that lowers the price.

Well I picked this up for the GC and so far I love it. I've beat the first two Tiger Challenges and noticed that it seems the AI "let's" you win, the golfers choked on a couple holes to let me get even and pull ahead. But even noticing this, I got pumped when he missed shots, and when the heartbeat starts and the game pulls it's crazy camera tricks. Really digging it.
