Hello guys, I'm new to Animal Crossing (Just got my Platinum GC yesterday and played AC for 6hrs straight....havent touched Vice City yet even!)

#1 When I get a code for an item to trade to someone, the item is no longer mine correct, it disappears?

#2 Since these items are gone ( I think), do you guys just order another one from Nooks catalog or something to trade with? Or do you only trade what you have 2 of, or dont want?

#3 I REALLY want/need a gold axe, can these be traded?

You can only trade items that are available from reorder from Nook's so you can't trade rare items, so I simply order whatever someone wants to trade me for. You do lose it when you get the code, but you can always buy it again.
Because it is rare, no one can send you a gold axe.
