XBox Live selection Email
So, I open my email today to see a message from XBox saying that they are still picking people for October.
They have a link in the email that says fill out a survey for a 1 in 6 chance to be selected.
I click on the link, and it gives me a message "Restricted Access:
You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. Try visiting the Home Page and starting your search over again."
Grrrr.. how am I supposed to fill out the survey if you won't let me access it.

This happened to my friend on Friday. He called Xbox and they said it's a problem for everyone that got this batch of emails. Something to do with the servers. They said it should be working sometime today. "Should" being the operative word.

There is no point signing up now. There is only 3 weeks remaining until LIVE is officially launched. This is some stupid MS gimmick to get the hype up. Besides it take about a week to send you the kit so technically you got only 1 week to test. That sucks in my opinion.

What comes with the beta-pack that does not come with the retail offering? I got an email today telling me to order my beta kit for $49.95
Says it comes with NFL Fever 2003 BUT THAT IT IS ONLY GOOD DURING THE BETA TEST !!!
It also comes with something called "whacked" and "motoGP"

I got selected!
Boy that was quick. I just answered their questionaire a little over an hour ago.
And I'm surprised they picked me. I am 41 years old and don't play video games alot. Or maybe that is why they picked me. They think I am real excited to be picked and I will now pluck down $49.95 for the beta kit and now they have my money for sure. Instead of waiting until November 15th, when I wait to decide if I really want to sign up or not. So they are pretty smart!
A question though. I just got DSL (it's great) and I believe I need a router (wireless), so that I can connect to XBox live. What do I need for the Xbox to connect wirelessly to my DSL line? Am I missing something simple here? Thanx
