TimeSplitters 2
It's SICK! At first everyone said the game is just a goldeneye ripoff, but 1/2 way through the first level (the demo was that half) crazy stuff starts happening, I supposed they did this intentionally to throw players off, but the game is not a goldeneye knockoff. The animation and graphics are the best yet for a console fps imo, since it's rated T the violence isn't over the top but it's still fun, the controls have got to be my favorite part~ MOH, Agent under fire and even TS1 never felt "right" for me, but the controls in TS2 are perfect, it just feels so smooth. Anyone else have stuff to add?

MrSneis,
Have you tried out the map maker, yet? If so, how much space does a map take up on the memory card?
I bought it yesterday, but will probably trade it in for the xbox version because I have concerns about map sizes. Plus, I don't want to buy a multi-tap just so I can play with three friends.

hmm, well i haven't used the mapmaker myself, but i'd imagine that a map would take up lots of space (500+ kb's), as for switching from the ps2 to xbox version, i'd wait to see how it fares, remember how NFS ended up sucky on all systems but ps2?

This is out already? I must have missed it. This one looks like a must buy for me. IGN said it is better than GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Turok.
Here is the XBOX and CUBE reviews which were the same.
Presentation
Slick menus, quick load times, and enough options to fill a very long scroll. 9.0
Graphics
Big, pretty worlds, top animation, particle effects, gun models and more -- all at 60 frames! Character designs fail to impress, lacks some visual bells and whistles. 8.0
Sound
Great music tracks and ambient sound effects. Some repetition. 8.0
Gameplay
Fun. Fun. Fun. From the GoldenEye-like single-player missions to the unbeatable, bottomless multiplayer modes, TS2 is a blast. 9.0
Lasting Appeal
Wow. Tons of fun single-, cooperative and multiplayer modes and challenges will keep gamers busy for months. And the intuitive MapMaker feature will keep them coming back for months more. 10.0
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 9.1

Gamespot's review is surprisingly positive too: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories...884946,00.html
edit -- gamespot gives it 8.7
I thought the demo was pretty fun, but it seemed a little more difficult than I expected due to the complete (or nearly complete) lack of health kits.
Still this comment seems a little suspect: "As a result, TimeSplitters 2 may very well be the best split-screen multiplayer-focused first-person shooter ever created. "
The graphics weren't too bad in the demo, but I wouldn't give them an 8 either unless things really changed.
Still, I'm going to exchange Blinx this afternoon for either this or Hitman 2. Need to make up my mind. (other possibilities include "The Thing). Any suggestions are appreciated.

another question -- I can't seem to find it in any of the reviews, unless I'm just blind -- does TS2 have bots or is it missing them like Halo?

Where are you gonna exchange them at? I would like to do the same, and want to get a good deal.
Does TS2 have bots in the multiplayer modes? I didn't see anything about it. OOPs didn't see that.

Well, just called my local gamestop and they said TS2 for xbox has been pushed back till 10/23. Weird. Guess it's just the PS2 version that's actually shipped.
Oh well. Guess I'll pick up Hitman 2 instead.
I'm getting it at Gamestop where I got Blinx -- just take it back within a week. I bought it on Wed. and woulda taken it back sooner, but I only just played for the first time last night.

Are the controls on this version different from the original? I thought the original ones were lame and to hard and frustrating. I would like to have the controls work like 007 or GTA3. Just curious.

Hey anyone else who played a lot of Halo before using the Dual Shock for FPS find it's tough to aim that Dual Shock in FPS? They are just too close together and it makes it really tough to get a good aim. That was one of the things I didn't like about Timesplitters. I put up with it for SOCOM because it's such a great game online, but my aiming sucks and I get fragged a lot. I guess that means others can use it more effectively than me. Sighs..

I had the same problem with Medal of Honor. I hate that the sticks are beside each other instead of staggered like the GC and X-box controllers. It's just awkward. They should have just switched the places of the left stick and the D-pad when they made the Dual Shock 2.
