PS2 help

A friend of mine is having a problem saving his GT3 games. His memory card is not full and his other games save fine on it. It shows up as a save if he looks at all the saves on the card, but like the next day when he tries to start his saved GT3 game it's completely gone and is even gone from the mem card saved list. The other games saves are still there.

He and I are pretty confused about this and would apreciate any suggestions.

Has he tried saving on another memory card? Perhaps the card is faulty. Just a guess.

He hasn't got but the one card. It seems kinda weird that all the other games save fine on this card.

Its probably best to call up Sony about something like that. I honestly have no idea what could be the problem and have never heard of such a problem.

A faulty card would be my guess also.

I'm not so sure that he's saving his game correctly. I talked to him tonight and asked him to read me the "SAVE" info in the GT3 instruction book. Unfortunately he's lost the book so if any of you would be so kind as to tell me how to save this game so I can make sure he's doing it correctly when I call him a little later I would sure appreciate it.

BTW: I read where you can have only one GT3 save per mem card. Does that mean that the mem card has to be empty of all other different games saves before you can save a GT3 game? I'm not quite sure what the guy meant when he said that.

There can only be one GARAGE per memory card. You can have other stuff on there.

I found his trouble tonight when I went over to his house.

He went to Wal-Mart and bought a new memory card and had the same trouble. Further investigation made me realize that the only saves that he had or was doing was the "Best" and license saves. He had never done a major data save and that was his problem. Too bad that you can't have more than one major data save per memory card. I guess that he'll have to buy one more mem card so he and both of his sons can have a saved game each.
