I guess you should wait if you are considering buying one.

i like the "also plays dvds" part!

very interesting.
--

just checked ign's site about sega gt2002. gave it a decent score but it doesn't seem like something i'd buy. JSRF, i'd buy.

That is sweet. Too bad I already got one.
(He says they already got one) Sorry I started thinking about Monty Python and the Holy Grail for a second.

$199 for the Xbox and two pretty good Sega Games (actually GT is very good), plus the S Controller is a great deal.

Where did this info come from?

I guess I will be the first one to say this (putting on flame suit), but this kind of makes Microsoft look desperate. These kinds of bundles usually come along when a console is nearly dead (Dreamcast, Saturn, etc).

Now I'm not saying this is the case with the Xbox, but I think some people may look at it that way. Just playing the Devil's Advocate for a second because I know that is going to come up. Hopefully, this will force Nintendo and Sony to do the same thing for the Holidays. Competition good.

Damn, I was hoping one of the games would be Halo. I have no interest in JSRF, and only a passing interest in Sega GT.

Still it would spare me buying a type S to replace the original controller that I can't stand and I could always sell the 2 games.

BTW, where's it say anything about a type S?

Is it just the S controller, or is the S controller extra with the original also included?

Its a good deal either way, but maybe MS is going to start fazing out the overall unpopular original controller. (I know many people like the original, but in general people seem to prefer the S controller. At least according to my source at EB)

Any other deals?

*I love the "Also plays DVD's!.....Seperate kit required part"

A lot of game magazines disliked the original as well. The poll here is fairly close though, with 33 prefering the Type S, 23 the original and 4 saying "both suck."

I wouldn't be shocked to see them phase out the original given the seemingly negative response to it by a (small?) majority.

Well Nintendo announced a couple months ago that they are releasing a bundle in mid-october that includes an Indigo GC, Mario Sunshine, a controller, and a Mem 59 for $189, so MS could just be doing it to counter that.

At any rate I wouldn't call this a sign of desperation. MS isn't trying to make money. They've already shown that they're willing to lose billions this generation to gain market share and get their name "in" the industry. This is just another way to do that, and will likely be very successful.

Forgot about that one. Yeah, this looks like an answer to that bundle. For only $10 more you get two games as well. However, Super Mario Sunshine vs those two games looks like a win for Nintendo. Still, it will help sell Xbox consoles though. Its a deal a lot of people will not be able to pass up.

If MS would have made the bundle Halo and GT2002 I think they could have really done some major damage this holiday season, but I guess they don't want to give away one of there few games that sells well.

All I need is an announcement saying that MS officially bought Capcom, and my Cube is going on Ebay & I'm picking up an X-Box... this is a great deal.

Australia has had an xbox Halo bundle for a while now at $200. PS2 has the FFX, and MGS2 bundles.

Supposedly JSRF & Sega GT 2002 come on the same DVD.

I don't see where the pictures say that the bundle comes with these things for $199. Are you sure they didn't bump up the price like GC?

Well, it says "2 free games", and the generally accepted definition of 'free' doesn't require paying more. The impression I'm getting is that the Controller S comes in place of the original controller, so that's not really much of a bonus in the same sense.

So...let me count the money I have lost for being an early adopter. You don't want to know.

I guess that is the way it goes. At least others that may not normally pick up an Xbox will get one & enjoy it.

Unless it's a grocery store.

It looks like an actual box. I'd guess Canadian packaging, but I'm at work and don't have my box handy to see if it's also Francophone-friendly. It's more obviously a box from the scans at http://forums.teamxbox.com/showthrea...hreadid=136509

I own all 3 systems and although I love SMS, I would say JSRF and GT 2002 together would outweigh SMS in my opinion. JSRF is a great game (I hated the original) and GT 2002 is a pretty good driving game.

If you guys are ever looking for a deal with Halo in it, you should go shop at Sam's Club or Costco, I've seen many bundles with Halo and Fever or each one separate. You don't get them for free, but they are at a severely reduced price in the bundle.

I really hope that's not true, as I don't want either game and would sell them if I bought the bundle and use the money to buy a couple games that I want. I could probably get around $30-40 a piece for them, there's no way I'd get that much for one DVD with both games on it.

I doubt that. If this bundle is legit I predict that the market will be glutted with these games.
