Whoops, need to make a change. Can't believe I forgot about Soul Calibur. As much as I love MK2(greatest of the series), it drops off my list for SC.

My choices:

Robotron
Star Wars Pinball
Super Street Fighter: Championship Edition
hehe, careful ! It becomes addictive.....its like crack, once you have one hit, you'll never stop

Great choices,
Let me give you some feedback here

Robotron- EXTREMELY collectible and hard to find at auction. If you do, they usually go for about $1000. Some times you get lucky and can pick it up for about $700. I am looking for one of these myself

Star Wars Pinball
There are several of these by different companies. Some are very reasonable while others are through the roof (like Episode 1)
I would also like one of these

Super SF:CE
These are CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP at auction. I routinley see these going for under $200, some times as cheap as $75
This would be your best bet to start with

I think for my first three, I would go:

Pac-Man Cocktail Table
Galaga
Donkey Kong

I know, common choices but those are what I would REALLY want. Of course, I would later want to find a X-Men six player, D&D and Ice Cold Beer aomong others.
great choices and all classics. Here is an average price for average condition

Pac cocktail - $750
Galaga upright - $800
DK - $700

Off Road and Wrestlefest can be found cheap....Wrestlefest I have seen go for under $100 working.

Moon patrol is hard to find, but a mid-classic tittle. Usually around $400

You have just listed 3 of my all-time favorites.
I would just about sell my soul for a sit-down SW machine.
They go for about $3000 and I WILL HAVE ONE SOMEDAY !!!!!!!!

Depends on condition.
If its perfect, only about $5.00...but I will help you out and give you $50.00 and even pick it up !

of course, you could ebay it and get over $1000, but that is so much trouble

Hypersports is good, especially if in a good cabinet.
Commandos seems a little high....more like $275-$300
But if it is in GREAT condition, and you like the game, maybe

Ok... You have to understand that I played this game when I was very small, and is one of my first memories of video games. I remember quite a bit about it considering. However, the game may have sucked or may have just been obscure. I don't remember people playing it, and I remember that my mother didn't particularly care for me playing it (oddly enough, she had NO problems with me playing Death Race). I assume from those two indications, the game must have been pretty bad.

Anyway, I remember the game as being green, or perhaps it was lit with green, but either way, the predominant color was green. It was a driving game, but I can't tell you exactly what the object was, as I didn't really play it the correct way -- I believe I had trouble seeing what I was supposed to be doing. The big thing that attracted me to it as a young kid was a small model car (that I believe was also green, and was similar to the ones I'd build years later) that sat in the center of the display area and I assume functioned as a representation of the car you drove. There was also a drag strip "christmas tree" next to it that would count down like the real thing, and from this, I assume it was a drag racing game. I know for a fact it was a sit down game, and I believe it had real bucket seats. I remember my mother shifting for me, so it probably had some kind of shifter. I cannot remember if it was a two player game (side by side bucket seats) or if it was a one player game. In some memories it's one way and in some it's another. I highly suspect there was only one seat.

This game would have likely been released in the early to mid 70's, and at least two years before 1980 at the very latest. It might have been Speed King, but I cannot find pictures to verify this. It was not Speedway or Road Runner.

Any ideas?

Whoa ! 4:54 am dude?
I hope you work crazy hours and were not up all night on the computer !

I think you may be actually describing what's called an EM or Electro-mechanical game. EM's are what were around before electronics and video. I will keep my eye out for this and ask around. It seems to me that I also remember a similar game...the plastic car and starting tree sound awfully familiar.
