Lord Of The Rings
A few months ago EGM ran a preview on a LOTR game that wasn't being handled by EA. It was being touted as a 'literary adaptation' and was supposedly more RPG-ish and not a hack and slash like the EA movie tie-in. There was an ad for it in the October EGM and I was surprised to see that it is PS2 and X-Box when the preview originally said it was X-Box only.
Has anyone heard or seen anythng about this? Is it supposed to better than the upcoming EA version?

Thanks for the info everyone. I agree with the movie licensed being a "beat 'em up". From what I read in EGM and what I saw on the bonus disc of LOTR, my expectations of the game aren't that high.
I wonder....will Tom Bombadil be in the book version?

From what I've read, the hack-and-slash movie adaptation will debut on PS2 and come out for Xbox and Gamecube later on, but the RPG based on the book is an Xbox exclusive.

That's what I thought but the ad for it in the new EGM says otherwise.

EA's one is the Two Towers (although it will have some Fellowship in it) while Universal's will be Fellowship translation.
I didn't care much for Universal's, but after starting The Thing, I could be wrong-I'll check out EA's first.

Extended Play ran a story on the movie vs. book adaptation. They stated that the book is X-Box but maybe their info is wrong. Hey, they showed an artist's rendition of Tom Bombadil for the Universal game!
BTW - whatever happened to Kate Botello?
