Sam & Max sequel announced!

http://www.lucasarts.com/press/releases/61.html

Won't be out until early 2004 and I can hardly wait! First Full Throttle 2 and now this? Woohoo!

Here's hoping LucasArts does another Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle game.

This was announced a long time ago, but that doesn't make me any less excited.

I had Maniac Mansion on the NES and then got Day of the Tentacle on my Mac... both great games... I look forward to the third one. (By the way does anyone remember the TV series this spawned? Horrid, just horrid!)

And with Sam & Max, I still giggle when I think of all the hours I spent looking for that giraffe-necked girl... and I wish they'd put the cartoon series on DVD!!!! That would rock. Maybe with the release of the game???!!!

I've still got those games around here somewhere... as well as The Dig, which I loved!

Any news of a new Lucasarts adventure game is great. Here's hoping they continue to maintain their excellent standards.

A third Maniac Mansion would be awesome. I never played Sam and Max but with all this hot talk, I am going to buy some from Ebay.

A very awsome game. and yes, it was announced some time ago, but I'm happy as all hell about it.

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will "Use Max" on this sequel to make it disappear from existence!!! Or make that bunny and that dog roadkill on the route 66 to the carnival.

Actually, jokings aside, I'm glad that this game comes out for those who like the original. I, on the other hand, will just stay REAL far away.

*Points up to the attic*
Max - "What's up there?"
Sam - "We don't go up there, not since the accident"

I loved the humor in the game, but too many of the puzzles were just way too obtuse, even for an adventure game. If this one is any where near as funny and off the wall, I'll definitely pick it up, even if I have to print out a few pages from gamefaqs.

No, this particular Sam & Max project hasn't been announced before.

The one you're thinking of was being done by a studio called Infinite Machine (started by Justin Chin, a former LucasArts employee) but that company went bankrupt a couple months ago and the game was obviously cancelled. I believe that was only going to come out on the XBOX.

This new one is being developed in-house and has no connection with the Infinite Machine project, and is being developed for the PC.

Is that the kettle boiling? Or the pot? I'm not sure.

It was good-natured ribbing cuz you seem to be allergic to anything that's not about "gay cowboys eating pie" and your comments seemed like unnecessary thread crap - but I guess I'm guilty of that from time to time too... so touche.

Hot dog. I've still got the original sitting at home (on floppy disk).

They've started and then shelved this a number of times. I won't be holding my breath for this one.
