From: 30-minute drive from Tampa HR....
Not a bad deal. Halo would be nicer though!

I also noticed that SSX Tricky was marked as $19.90 on the clearance rack and Jedi Starfighter was marked at ~$20.00 in the normal video section.

Are you sure it was Jedi Starfighter and not Starfighter SE? I wouldn't mind picking up Jedi if it was.

It was probably the earlier version. I can't keep the two straight. My apologies if there was any confusion.

It was probably Starfighter SE. I saw it at my local Target the other night for $17.88. Jedi Starfighter was $39 and some change.

You're right. I went to Target tonight and picked the game up so it is definately Starfighter Special Edition.

I've also seen UFC Tapout for $34.90 and Bloodwake for $27.90.

Target has a ton of PS2 games on clearance, but it was too many to remember. Some notable ones were Balder's Gate for $14.90, Silent Hill 2 for $20.90, and Maximo is reduced to $17.88 as well.

How can I verify this? Is this a nationwide thing or regional? I was planning to buy the XBOX and Halo tomorrow....

Wow. Baldur's Gate is a no-brainer at that price. If you're on the bubble, I'd recommend it without a doubt for $15.

I saw Silent Hill 2 in the Sunday paper for $25 at Media Play. I didn't think I would really like it, but I think a lot of people really like it. I thought about trying it, but I'm still not sure.

I second Baldur's Gate a MUST BUY at $15. One of the best PS2 games hands down. If being a great game won't convince you, consider this: it is a near fail-safe method to get your non-vid-playing female S.O. or wanna be S.O. on the video gaming bandwagon. If you are involved with a nice girl who is perfect in every way except an awful lack of video gaming addicted-ness, GET THIS GAME. It will change your life.

(details: my fiancee wasn't into games, we played BG and finished it together, she's hooked, finished GTA3 before I even got off the first island. She's a natural and never even knew it! By the way, the reason why BG kicks ass is because it boasts a two player cooperative mode without a split screen, its fun, addictive, and really easy to play. Plus, as a bonus, you can sell your clothes off first thing, and run around as a naked dwarf and his hottie sorceress pal.)

By the way, more on topic, EB is running a deal on the XBOX which IMHO beats the Target Deal hands down. If you buy the box before the end of August, along with Halo, an extra controller, and any other game of your choice, you get a 50 dollar gift card or rebate or something. I see the signs in the store all the time. Its like a free game (of your choice). Also, they sell THPS3 and Wreckless for like 25 dollars.

Sure you have to spend like 300 for the rebate, but its stuff any reasonable person would buy anyway. Who would buy an X-Box without Halo and a second controller?
