Xbox dvd playback question

Not sure if this belongs here, but I will ask anyway. I read that when you first install the DVD playback kit, the region of the first dvd you play is locked in as the only region your xbox will play after that. What happens if the first dvd you play is an all region disc, or region 0 (Example: some of the early Hong Kong Legends titles)?

I think the region is locked via the DVD plackback device (i.e. the thing that plugs into your Xbox) not the DVD itself. So, if you bought the DVD playback kit from the USA, you'll get a region 1 DVD player. If you buy a region 2 kit, you'll get region 2, and so forth. I'm not 100% positive, but that's pretty much what I found out while researching.

Thats correct. Its the kit you install, not the disc.
