Is Lost Kingdoms GCN any good?

I was reading about this game, and reading some of the reviews, which typically seem to say the game is good, not great, but a good game. Has anyone played it, and if so, how is it? Is the two player co-op play good?

Thanks....

One of the Nintendorks staffers gave it a pretty good review. You might want to check that out for a, shall we say, different, perspective on the game.

I don't think there's any co-op play...just a versus mode. I've heard the game is really short, so you may just want to rent it.

Its gotten fairly decent reviews. Its a card based RPG, but is suppose to have a pretty unique battle system.

The only major complaint I've heard (and it seams to be the problem with most games lately) is it is too short. Might be a good rental game.

I rented it back when it first came out, its ok, probably semi-above average but I'd only play it if you really looking for something to play and can't find anything else. I'm a huge RPG fan, but I didn't finish this game. The combat however is nicely done and actually pretty fun, it takes awhile to get used to but is very original. The graphics are pretty good too, and its also nice to play a female lead character for a change. The thing I didn't like most about it was the music, I'm really particular about music in RPG's, but this was just was plain not good.

So I'd agree with those other reviewers, its ok, not great, but still ok. But as I said, I didn't have the will to beat it, rent it first.

i don't understand your response. are you saying that some guy at nintendo gave it a good review, but the game really sucks... so thats the different perspective that the review takes?

I was just saying the guys at Nintendorks are unique. He gave it a review similar to what most people gave it -- good, not great. Read the damn review for yourself.

I enjoyed it myself, but suggest you rent first. You will either like it or not, and depending on how much you like it, it may not be worth a $50 purchase. It is short like mentioned, but I loved the card-collecting aspect, especially the number of ways to get new ones. The battle system is nicely tuned and becomes very fun and even frantic is some fights. Definately a unique game, but with its own downfalls that will matter more or less depending on the person. (and I always need to add this, there are side quests in the game. some "professional reviewers" missed them and gave the game an even lower score.)

It's not your fault. Should've given the man a link! You've already decided to rent it, but here ya go anyway.

I LOVE Nintendorks! Their reviews are quite good, and not as crazy and silly as the rest of the site.
