Dead or Alive 3 Booster Secrets... ?
Hi,
I have been playing DOA3, but actually added the Booster pack before I started playing, so I didnt get to witness the differences.
The magazine said there were new costumes plus more..
from what I have read elsewhere, there is also a new cutscene or something? What is this?
Is there anything else new besides the plethora of new costumes?
Great fighting game, but still wish we were getting VF4.1!

The press release just mentions the new movie (which, at least on my booster disc, starts as soon as I select 'Dead or Alive' from the menu) and the costumes. It also mentions a playable demo of DoA3, but since I have the full game, I didn't keep an eye out for that.

I have the disc, but I don't have the full game. It does have a demo with several playable characters and backgrounds to fight in. They show a movie first; maybe that is the new intro?
After the Team Ninja logo sequence (which consists of a thunderstorm on water, followed by the camera panning up through the clouds to reveal the tops of mountains and these weird lights), the first character we see is Christie. She gets into what looks to be an abondoned car and has a piece of floss or thread with blood on it (?). Cornered by police cars, she drives head on into them. That is followed by Hulk Hogan, er, Bass, cutting down a tree.
Ctyner, was that in the original game?

There's no opening cinema like that in the standard American release. I believe it's mentioned in the magazine that the cinema is from foreign releases, and it was included on the booster disc to keep America par with other countries.

The opening is a special feature on the bonus disc, but I don't think it was copied to the HD when the costumes are transferred over. However, I still think there's more to the booster than just the costumes because in the interview in that issue with Itagaki (sp?) he mentions that there are a number of surprises/secrets -- I think that's more than just the hyped costumes, but I don't know what exactly.

I believe the booster disc has new ending movies for some of the chars and new moves like finishing moves etc. I would check with European fan sites and see if they list additional moves not found in the manual with DOA3.
