Which Console to buy Xbox or Gamecube ?

Hi guys,

I can't seem to make up my mind so i thought i would get some opinions. I have a PS2 and am pleased with it, it was a must buy for these games GTA3, MGS2, MOH:Frontline, ect. Anyway i was thinking about buying a Xbox or Gamecube, which would you guys suggest.

I'm kinda leaning towards Xbox, seems to have the best graphics, has a dvd-rom, good game selection (Halo, need i say more). Also has a lot of the PS2 games but with improvements. They also will probably get ports of PC games, and my computer is too slow to play todays games. Hows the controller ? I fell in love with the Playstation controller in the early nineties and i don't know if i can switch. Any thing i should know about the Xbox ?

I'm not a big fan of Nintendo. I just never really were into their games RPG's and other typical Nintendo stuff, censoring, toning down violence ect. Are they still doing this ? What should i know about a Gamecube ? also hows the controller for the Gamecube ?
any most own games ?

thanks for for reading this

what would you guys suggest, or should i just save my $ for the next Generations of consoles ? or buy a new computer ?

thanks for all the help.

I would look at the games you want to buy. Get the console that has the games you want. If the XBox has them then buy that. the PS2 and the XBox has the most overlap of games however if you like the XBox exclusives then that is what I would buy.

I like the GC as a second purchase with a PS2. however since I like RPG's and want Godzilla and Resident Evil it was the best choice for me .

Only you can decide what is right for you

Good Luck!

It's all up to you. Take a look at the existing and upcoming games for both consoles. See which ones appeal to you. Base you decision on that.
For me, I opted for a Cube to go along with my PS2. The XBox library wasn't compelling to me(I already beat halo when I was borrowing my brother's xbox) and there were no upcoming games that screamed "must have" for me. I also found the library overlapped to much with my PS2. Granted the XBox versions would have improved graphics but I wanted a wider selection. I took a look at the cube lineup and I opted to get it. It's cheaper, has more games that interest me(RE, RE 0, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Zelda, etc) and is smaller(which for me is actually a farily important factor as I live in a very cramped place). So basically don't make your decision based on controllers or anything like that. Look at the current and upcoming games and decide which suits you better.
