REAL Sales figures
So I was bored at work yesterday and decided to look up sales numbers on the 3 consoles. I can't tell you where I work but lets just say you have to have a membership card to shop there. Anyway, these numbers include every store, nationwide and international for the last 4 weeks.
Units $
PS2 2915 $810409
XBOX 2669 $872325
NGC 1555 $326515
All 3 consoles are sold in bundles, with xtra controllers and games.
Here is what the numbers looked like before and after the price cuts.
before after
PS2 615 1435
XBOX 429 1295
NGC 368 562

Sure, I can get you that by Thursday. How about the 5 gallon buckets of heavy mayo?

Why do you say that? I got them right off the computer from the company intranet. I can look up sales for each individual store anywhere in the world. I can give you units sold, total sales and profit margins.

the xbox is $800646 at the same 299.98 cost for a bundle factoring in $100 dollar drop total should be $843546
Gamecube is $326518 or factoring in $50 price drop should be $344918.
not sure why the numbers do not add up? maybe returns are subtracted from dollars not unit sales. maybe they had to give money back to people who bought units before the price drop and the adjustments reduced the PS2 total while keeping the units high.
Or maybe Samsclub has a bad accounting system
By the way you must work at Samsclub since Costco does not sell bundles of the PS2

The PS2 was about $399 before the price drop and the XBOX was around $429 because they were sold as bundles. The XBOX bundles had more stuff included with them, that's why they cost more. The GC was around $250 or so. There were a couple different bundles too with varying prices so if you divide the sales by the units you won't get an exact price.

I can easily tell you where gross@iastate works simply because there is only one of them here in little ol' Ames.
(On a side note, I can not believe I have missed a fellow Cyclone on these boards for this long) :P

Alright! Go Clones!!
Do you play any Halo online? I'm sure it would have a pretty good ping. Since we live in the same town.

These numbers only represent one (unnamed) chain store in the USA that may or may not be indicative of sales in general. I'd be more interested in seeing full sales figures for the entire country, and then those for the entire world.

The top selling item was unleaded gas in case anybody cares.
