Even though some might be turned off to the "kiddie" look, I'm actually excited to play this next installment of Mario.

Hopefully it will be at 60 fps... if super monkey ball can do it, mario can too!!

Nothing wrong with another Mario 3d platformer.

That blotchy green textured wall behind them looks really ugly. I hope the game looks better being played.

The characters seem to have a higher polygon count than earlier screenshots, which is a good sign. Hopefully the rumors that the textures are just placeholders are true...because the ones in that shot are awful.

Miyamoto and others have said that these textures are just placeholders, and are actually from Mario 64. Hopefully that is true and the game will look much better at E3.

If not, as long as it plays well, I'll ignore the textures.

Besides, if you went and played Mario 64 RIGHT NOW you'd see it looks nowhere near as good as MS. I played it last week and it was terrible (graphically). We've been spoiled with silky smooth framerates and now M64's framerate is just so bad.

Just to clarify, I don't think Miyamoto or anyone actually involved with the projects has said they are placeholders. That claim is from Planet GameCube.

Could be. I don't care personally. Graphics don't matter jack to me, and the newest screen shot looks more than good enough to me. Graphic whores are ruining the game industry. There's way to many games out there that look great but have no gameplay because so many people, including some on this forum, care more about graphics than anything else. This has all but ruined the PC game industry, hopefully something will stop it from ruining the console industry.

Anyway, people saying it looks like an N64 game are full of crap. Super Mario 64 looks like crap compared to these screen shots. Unless of course other system fanboys post pics of Mario 64 running at a higher resolution on a PC emulator.
