More Mario and Zelda games in the works
IGN has reported that the new issue of a Japanese gaming magazine will have details on a new Mario game (something other than Mario Sunshine) and a non cel-shaded Zelda game that could be a compilation of updated versions of previous games.
from cube.ign.com:
More Mario and Zelda
Two new games could be on the way.
April 19, 2002 - Overseas games news service Quiter is reporting that tomorrow's issue of Japanese GameCube magazine Dengeki will feature first details on two major unannounced Nintendo titles. The first is another Mario game in addition to Super Mario Sunshine. The other is another Zelda game that isn't the cel-shaded The Legend of Zelda designer Shigeru Miyamoto first previewed at Space World 2001.
There are no details whatsoever on the secret Mario game, but reports floating abound have indicated that the secret Zelda title could be a compilation of sorts with an updated graphic look. Rumor has it that US Nintendo development subsidiary NST could be behind the game. There are no solid confirmations on any of this information.
If Quiter is correct and tomorrow's Dengeki does in fact reveal two new games, that would mean that GameCube owners would be getting two Mario titles and two Zelda offerings within the next year -- a magnificent feat, especially by Nintendo's slow development cycle standards.
IGNcube will of course have the follow-up story as Dengeki hits news stands in Japan.

I'm thinking the Mario is a "Mario Party" title...or maybe 'mario kart'?
The collection of old Zelda's is definitely a cool idea. Especially since there's 1 or 2 of them that I never beat. I think I'd only buy it if it had like ALL the Zelda's on there though. It'd be especially cool if they had all the gameboy zeldas.

Both of those games have already been announced, so this is something new.

A link to my DVD collection, since everybody is dying to know what movies some random Internet stranger owns.
Don't forget to give it some clever name like "My Elitist Collection" so we all know how smart you are!

I'm sorry but this rumor has been proven to be untrue for now:

It's still possible that these games are coming, but there is currently no confirmation to the rumor.

Flay, could you copy and paste whatever that link is? I really don't trust an IGN board member unless is from Fran or Matt since they wrote the story. Thanks.
On a side note. Of course there is more then one game in the works. It's rather obvious really...

Quiter posts apology
"The site Quiter has posted what appears to be an apology regarding the rumor that the newest Dengeki would have information on a new Mario and Zelda title.
According to the site, the rumor has not checked out.
So now we can put this issue to rest."

i think its fairly safe to say that new mario and zelda titles are in the works, i mean, they have released multiple mario and zelda games on every console so far, why would they stop now? i think it just means that they don't have any information on what, when, etc....
