I got this game over the weekend and spent about half an hour on it already I don't like it. I got this for playstaion 2.
the big thing i notice is that the very first level where spidey is jumping from skyscrappers, pressing R2 will make spidey auto websling or something....the thing is where's the websling going to? it seems to be clinging to the sky or something.
anyways then i played the stealth warehouse level then quit after that...i'll play more this weekend.
so first impressions...bland.

I felt the same way. It was just a little blah, though I did start making some pretty sweet web shots and using lots of different techniques to beat enemies.
To answer your "where does the webbing go?" question, this is really a staple of Spiderman (and Daredevil, and Batman) comics. Basically any character that uses any sort of grappling hook to move around the city suffers from this problem. It's just ignored.
Accept and move on

My notebook has a 16 meg video card only. It says 32 meg for pc. Is this really the requirement or just to get full effects on it. I wanted to grab the game, but this stopped me on my tracks! Too bad u can't upgrade notebook videocards.

I rented -XBOX- it at BBV(free thanks to guaranteed in stock)...its really not my type of game, but I played it last night and had some fun. The camera didnt bother me and the controls were pretty simple to learn...

Just to put in my 2 cents...I saw Spider-man set up at our local Babbages and saw it running on a PS2, GC, & an Xbox. They were all pretty much had the same size screen. I can only tell you what I saw but The Xbox edition came away the clear winner. No question. The GC was pretty good & was a decent second. The PS2 was terrible. It really looked that bad. Spider-man kept stuttering & the graphics were definitely more blocky than the Xbox or GC.
Now for the playability...I just hate this game. Does anyone else hate the gameplay? Maybe it is just me but I just was not having that much fun. I am not a big control freak but I never could quit control spider-man the way I wanted to. Maybe it was just the camera problems that were throwing me off with the control. Wish I had rented it. The sound is also not a very good 5.1 mix 7 is probably one of the worse sounding Xbox games I have ever heard.

This is one awesome game. I just rented it!!!! Shocker is one bad ass dude. I might buy this game even. I can't believe that the Spider-Man game kicks ass too.
I still need to learn the fighting combos better. My hands are killing from play 4 hours straight!
Well back to the game!!!

What is amazing to me is the amount of detail they put into this game. YOu know the level with Grand Central...The billboard where you buy your tickets actually has the correct stops that the train will be making. That shocked me that they actually thought about that! They did a great job with the Grand Central in this game! Awesome!

Funny this thread just resurfaced as I just beat this game yesterday! It had been on the shelf for like 4 months and I finally decided to give it a go again. Man am I glad I did! In spite of fighting the camera the still did a great job with spidey!

I wonder why they released it so long before the movie opened.

I just sold my GC version (sold it for $35) for a XBOX version (bought it for $19) I must say I love this game! It's pure fun burned on a CD! The spidey combo moves are fun and even just racking in points can be enjoyable. Also the Kraven the Hunter add-in is pretty cool too! Another item that I love about the game is all the concept art! It's awesome! I was watching that the other night! I just hope we could get another spidey game out soon...based on the comics!
