Dungeon Siege release date?

Does anyone know when this game comes out or if it has already been released in stores?

If so, what store is selling it right now?

The game looks kickass.

It was shipped today, but some places do already have it. Expect it tomorrow at most places.

Sweet.

This game and NeverWinter Nights are the two titles I am looking forward to most.

*hopes that a good deal will be in next weeks papers*

I played this game for a good 2 hours last night. It is a lot like Diablo and my only complaint is how the camera is turned. If you put your mouse to the left side of the screen rotates left, etc. If you go to the top you get a lower perspective and if you go to the bottom you get a high perspective (kind of like in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance). Problem is when you are busy in battle and you have to attack something on the outer edges of the screen the screen may rotate.

It seems to be a very good game and one I look forward to playing more. Way too many games have come out these past few weeks that are highly addicting (HOMM4, Freedom Force, Dungeon Siege) or highly anticipated (Jedi Knight 2). I feel like I am being bombarded.

What kind of good deal are you looking for? EB did have the game for only $37.99 and I believe they now have it at $47.99 with a $10 mail-in rebate. This is EB online of course.

$37.99 isn't bad.

I'm hoping that Best Buy will have it for like $34.99 or around there. They usually do good with bigger game releases, and I know that Dungeon Seige is on a lot of people's must buy list.

Some places were having pre-order giveaways with this title may be worth checking to see if they still have the items available with purchase. I'm waiting on FedEx right now mine shipped yesterday from Gamestop.

I'm about ten hours into the game, and it's pretty good. Not revolutionary in anything, except maybe the packmules and the non-loading world, but really great graphics, and a good old-fashioned dungeon crawl.

The only problem I'm having is with equipment organization. After the second dungeon, I had to spend half an hour sorting through all my stuff to sell and equip. If there's an auto-equip button, I can't find it, and the Auto-Arrange button for the inventory might as well be labelled "Randomize" for all the good it does. I found it was just easier to sell everything I had and buy back what I needed.

AgtFox, if you've already gotten to the quest where you have to open the pass, how do you beat that? I tried for an hour, and just moved in... it's a huge blot on my journal.

I still haven't made it to the city. I'm in the dungeon in the Crypts right now I believe.

Yeah, the Auto-Arrange sucks. Once you get packmules, it sure helps! And I didn't see an auto-equip either.

To beat the "open the pass quest":

Spoiler:

Just go past the blocked gate. Kill things along the way (I'm not sure if you have to kill every single enemy in the pass for the quest). But the path is pretty linear, so you shouldn't miss any enemies or wander off the path. Eventually, after a lot of winding, and I think going through one dungeon/underground area, you pop up on the other side of the gate. There's a keg of dynamite at the base, I think. click on it/attack it (I'd suggest a ranged weapon), it blows up the blockage, and the door can open now. There's 3-4 guards on the other side, saying "We were just wondering how to open the gate" blah blah blah. Quest done.

I picked this up yesterday at Media Play for $40. I'm kind of baffled by the great reviews. The game just seems 'clumsy'. There's just not much to it. Diablo is a much better mindless hack and slash pseudo-RPG IMO. I'm kicking myself for not going with Jedi Knight II.

This game looks interesting, but it's definately in the "try before you buy" category for me. Anybody know if they plan on releasing a demo version?

I know the official web site talks about a demo coming after release.
