Damn Jedi Knight 2 Instalation process

I can't get mine to even Install right.

it gets to 1% and then an error with gamedata/jdkgamex86.dll has an error in it. cyclic redundancy error in the CD rom.

I have more then enough room for the game, and my computer stats are up there (1.3 gig) so I'm pretty much left with a screwed disc.

I bought it at a B&M Electronic Boutique, I wonder how much of a pain in the arse its going to be to exchange it.

Doesn't Electronic Boutique have pretty much a satisfaction guarantee for so many days after purchase? I thought I heard people on this forum say that you can return opened games with a receipt just stating that you don't like the game & want to exchange it for something else...

Yeah, I've also heard that EB has a good return/exchange policy. Man, that's a bummer... I bet the packaging is cool, though.

That's only with video games. PC games, they'll exchange a defective copy for the same game but nothing else. At least with my local Gamestop (EB branch).

I can send you a copy of mine Jack if you can't get yours working and they won't take it back (although I don't see why they wouldn't).

My Software Etc. near me will take back any game as long as you have a receipt and it is within seven days and in resellable condition. I used this when i got that Star Trek RTS game a year or so ago - thought it sucked so i took it back and said "this sucks" and they let me exchange it for something else and even offered to just refund my money.

Well I bought the tin. so thats a factor I was worried about.

Just opened up the jedi knight 2 though, so hopefully they will do a defective return on it since I have been aching to play this game pretty badly.

jack: most eb's have a no questions asked return policy, so I dont think it will be an issue. Yes, I know people that will buy a game, burn a copy of it, then return it. They are bad, bad people

Is your CD scratched? It usually caused some errors during the installation process.
