I'm looking to pick up a new game and I was trying to decide between Jak and Daxter or Maximo. What would you recommend?

I like Jak and Daxter better personally...

I haven't played Maximo, but J&D is definitely a renter.

I like both games. Maximo has "old-school" difficulty, one hit deaths if you fall in pits, limited lives and continues. Jak and Daxter is easier, unlimited continues, take a couple of hits to die, no "lives" you are just resurrected close to where you die. J & D took me about 12 hours to beat, haven't beat Maximo yet.

Most blockbusters have both for 29.99. Buy 2 and get a 3rd game free!

If you had to get just one...definitely go for J&D. It's so definitely awesome! I've played a bit of Maximo, and though it's fun (at first), it can get pretty frustrating.

Never played J&D, but I'm hooked on Maximo right now. Sure, it's hard, but it's refreshing to play a game nowadays where you can't make it through the first level the initial time you play it. Plus, the game is fun as hell. Go with Maximo.

Both are good games, but I'd probably go with Maximo. Its difficulty is rewarding and I think it has more replayability than J&D. It's more of an "old school" type platformer. You can't go wrong with either, but I'd suggest Maximo if you can only get one.

Maximo defenitely has the feel of the old Ghosts and Goblins which is hard to do when converting to 3D. While not exactly a sequel, I think they coulda made it one easily and it'd be the best of the whole old school games made 3D thing that usually fails so horridly.

I liked both games alot, but I thought Jak & Daxter was too easy. I finished it in about 10 hours of gameplay, whereas Maximo took 2 to 3 times longer & was more challenging. But they're both good. You could pobably beat J&D in a rental.

Maximo! Maximo! I can't stop playing this game. It's like Medievil on steroids. I think if you liked Ghouls n' Ghosts, you will love Maximo. Overall an excellent game.

I had Ghosts and Goblins for NES, and although it was extremely difficult, I did love playing it. I'm sure I'll love Maximo too -- I await the challenge.

Exactly what I though you'd end up doing....

I had the SAME dilemma last night when deciding on the free game to take with my buy 2 get 1 free deal at blockbuster... and I ended up taking Maximo and have no regreted it once... if I were you... Id go for the pre played offer... you can pick up 3 games for about 60 dollars
