Maybe 20 people max, and DVDtalkers have to put -=DVD=- in front of their names and then their DVDtalk nick to show who they really are.

Better if we just put -=DVDT=-, it's much clearly.

Some good suggesstions so far. We can also make it password protected so that only those we wish can play. Also anyone know the site that can make it so no matter what ip I have(dynamic not static) it will direct them to the game.

I have a new hero :D

I like the objective matches too but they get quite old after a while. How much work would it be to rotate Team Death Match and objective every other week?

And let me put in my vote now for Friendly Fire ON

Why would you want this? I suppose if it is just a DVDtalk server then we could count on no team killers, but still, why take the chance?

More realistic. Makes for a better game. You can't just fire a rocket at someone who who is two feet away from you with no consequences. I also vote FF on.

Well I expected as much. :) Anyways once you guys decide on what you want I will start the server. Also this will give me an excuse to use my Ibook more.

So what we do is that we make sure that the server admin can boot players, or that everyone knows how to call votes and vote so that the players can boot TKers without the admin being present. Another vote for FF here.

McHawkson 04-04-02 05:45 PM

Um, friendly-fire on?? I have a nasty habit as happy trigger, I don't want to kill my fellow DVDTalkers. :(

By the way, Cling, I saved your life last night at Rocket Facuilty. :D I killed the rocket wussy before he could shoot at you. Where's my medal? ;)

DeeEnEs: Create a domain name such as "poweruser.dyndns.org" that points to any *dynamic* IP address. This little software sits in your tray and updates the dyndns.org profile to match your currently assigned IP address. A great utility for those of us running a server on an ISP with dynamic IP addresses.

Don't know if this will work for you. I haven't used it, I just found it over at *whisper*anandtech.

Jeremy517 04-04-02 06:14 PM

I vote for objective matches or round based matches, with FF on. Definitely not solo DM. A max of 20 or so would be preferred.

Spicollidriver1 04-04-02 07:47 PM

Edited post out, gonna try to be up tomorrow afternoon after I figure some stuff out.

I can log on today. Which are you gonna be on?

McHawkson 04-07-02 03:31 PM

Hehe. Shuki and I played for a while, then FiveO came by later. It was fun playing with 3 DVDTalk fellows.

Shuki 04-07-02 03:52 PM

just a sweet taste of what it will be like once spicolli gets our server up for us!! :D

spicolli, spicolli he's our man if he can't do it no one can!! GOOOO spicolli!!! :p

FiveO 04-07-02 04:00 PM

You guys left too early..... :)

I was sucking wind in the early maps...but redeemed myself at the bridge map. Led everyone will kills and only lost one scenario as Allies. Not too bad....

Man I love sniper maps!

Good playing with you gents....we'll have to try it again soon.

You cleaned up pretty good on Omaha too :D

Shuki 04-12-02 11:33 AM

spicolli!!!! don't let it die man.... :)

FiveO 04-12-02 01:29 PM

I'm still in...no doubt.

I tried my first multiplayer game of Return to Castle Wolfenstein last night....whoa. Just my opinion but it seems much more realistic in many respects. I've found it to be tougher to play too...

MOH:AA has its merits too...and I'll still be playing it every day or two....but RTCW is interesting to say the least.

RCTW isn't tough as MOHAA does.

It seems tougher at first...but I'm getting the feeling that its just not as difficult over time...not sure if that makes sense.

I've been playing RTCW for a couple days now...but I think I'll move back over to MOH:AA....seemed to enjoy that more.

Cya soon!

Yeah, at first... But later on, everything got too easy. I always attack everybody from behind. I even bought the golds to the truck dozen times without some struggles.

MOHAA, you may go through easy, but it can be hard at unexpect. However, RTCW didn't offer like that. Only MOHAA's weak on Objective missions is Omaha beach. They shouldn't have respawn the Axis at where the cannon is... They should've put them little distance from it: for an example, put the objective target at the middle and Allies/Axis on opposite side.

As now, I'm playing at Round Based match. I liked it lot and just avoid me. :D

FiveO 04-14-02 03:01 PM

McHawkson...whats the "objective" of round based matches?

Static Cling 04-14-02 07:13 PM

I'm not McH... but the objective is to kill 'em all. It's like team-based deathmatch, except there's no respawning. Once you're dead, you're dead until the game is over.

Anthony Soprano 04-14-02 07:35 PM

I love the round based matches. I have been playing that format a bit lately. I got kinda wore out playing objective all the time.

Ah, thank you for explaining it to him for me. :D

Actually, he introduced me to round based match. I liked it lot and only one map I loathe it.

McHawkson 04-14-02 11:46 PM

Five-O, what do you think of Round Based Match? You should've seen me a map before. I have not played that map before and managed to kill 5 in one round.

FiveO 04-15-02 06:46 AM

I found the Round based to be interesting. With no respawning but also no objective....it gets very slow and deliberate. Sneaky if you may.

Its gonna take a bit of practice...I was so used to those maps during Team Death Match with multiple lives (respawning).

Come on, we don't have to kill the chance to play together..

Shuki 04-22-02 09:45 AM

man I miss you guys (and MOHAA too) *tear*

Seriously, I am here in the States for another month and can't wait to jump back into the action once I get back "home". Maybe that SW celebration in Indy coming up soon will occupy my thoughts for a while. Along with Spiderman, episode 2, etc..... Man I love America :D
