Not sure. Maybe you could try ordering one from Sony. Or when in doubt, there's always eBay.

I don't have the Playstation 2 yet. Just wanna check out the manual and see what accessories I might need. It's gonna take a month or so for Sony reward to send it to me. It's about time I'm getting something free from my Citibank Sony card.

PS2 front has two game ports, two card slots, two usb ports, power button, drawer open button, and cd/dvd rom tray.

Back has video, power, digital audio outputs and power switch. If you have the PS2 in a cabinet you'd normally leave the back power switch on and toggle the front to switch the PS2 from power on to standby.

Comes with 1 controller, power cable, composite video/audio cable, manual, warranty card, subscription card for Playstation Underground.

All in a nice blue box.

What else did you need to know?

Hold on, I have PS2 manual. I sold my PS2 system to someone and he doesn't want the manual. Do you want it? It's free.

Thanks for the offer but I'm gonna wait for the console to arrive.

BTW, why did you sell the PS2? You don't like it anymore?

No, I love it, but I needed the money, that's why.

The last game console I bought was the PS1 and I had it for about 3-4 days with about 10 minutes playtime before I I gave it to my brother-in-law's little brother. Maybe, I should get my Metal Gear game back from him.

Yeah... Well, just till I build my budget again, I'll buy new console system. But right now, I'm hooked to RTCW and MOHAA multiplayers.

- The basic PS2 does not come with a memory card... it has no internal memory, so you'll need one if you want to save any game information.

- The PS2 can output S-Video, but it doesn't have an S-Video out where you can just use a regular S-Video cable. You have to get (buy separately from the basic system) a PS2 S-Video cable... the part that plugs into the PS2 is a catch-all S-video-plus-left-and-right-audio cable. If you want to get S-Video, you'll have to use it, even if you're using your optical out for audio. I believe there's a PS2 component cable available for separate purchase, also. (The basic system is packaged with a PS2 composite cable.)

That sucks. I see an 8MB memory card from Sony going for 35 bucks!!! what a rip off. And this all or nothing S-video is rip off... I bet that things goes for around $20. I'm gonna stick with composite cable.

Or $300+ as people would assumed it came with whole system.

Maybe you can throw in the box. They will really think it's the whole package

Make a color printout and paste it over a box

Yeah, $35 is a lot, but hey, at least you won't end up buying 2 or 3 memory cards anytime soon like some GC owners have to do. 8MB is a lot of memory for these games.

As for the S-Video cable, you can find different brands at different prices. If I'm not mistaken, there's an S-Vid cable that's going for maybe $10 (not too sure, though).

I'm sure eBay wouldn't like that.

I dunno, my NCAA Football 2002 saves take up about half of one card. I'm pretty sure sports game saves... at least EA Sports games... are the biggest memory hogs. I've got eight games, two of them sports games, and I've had to purchase a second card. If you don't play sports games, though, you should be okay for a while with one.

And aren't GC memory cards about half as expensive as PS2 cards are?

Gamecube memory card -- 0.5 MegaBytes $15
Playstation 2 memory card -- 8.0 Megabytes $35

With the PS2, you get 16 times the memory for a little over twice the cost. Seems like a good deal to me.

I have 10 games for the PS2, all with multiple saves, and I am not even close to filling my card. Of course 2 of those saves are for FFX, which they say you can fit 99 saves on one card.

Depending on the quality of your television, you may see a noticeable difference with the S-video cable. I did on mine (VVEGA).

zuffy, don't stick with composite. You will get a much better picture using svideo or component with your PS2. You can find a cheap svideo cable (Interact, i think) for about $10.

Gamecube memory cards are divided into 59 blocks. Some games use only about 8 blocks, but i think sports games with season modes can use up almost the whole card.
