Bill and Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure

Does anyone know how to play this most heinous of heinous games? I can occasionally miraculously find the historical bait, but then it's non non impossible to find the historical figure.

Yes, I know your frustration. My only memories of the game was walking around the medieval time period wondering what the hell to do.
