alright, bumping this very old thread for the simple purpose of... TALKING ABOUT SOUL CALIBUR!! wooooo hoooo
anyhow. now it's set to hit later this month on all three systems. which one's are you getting it on? thoughts? |
I'll get it on the GC eventually for Link. It'll have to wait a while, buying an X-box for KOTR killed my gaming budge for a while. Not to mention that's taking up all my gaming time, and I still have Rygar, Jak and Daxter and Mark of Kri to play through. :D

note.. the weapon secrets that will be unlocked will eventually give link the ability to beat down people with hus butterfly catcher...

Spawn kicks Links ass up and down the street. I'll be getting the Xbox version for sure.
|
I won't be shocked if I end up with both the Xbox and GC versions.

I'm so there. And I'm boasting a new look.

I'm getting the X Box version.
I feel bad for PS2-only owners. Heihachi  rotfl  |
I have nothing against the GC version. But Link? Come on. Samus would have been much cooler.
|
So, I need a deal on the Soul Calibur II sticks for the cube. I can't imagine playing it with the regular controller.
|
ok, i keep playing the demos at the stores... and i don't like it. i like tekken and virtua fighter so it's not that i don't like fighting games.
i don't know... maybe the full version will be better. |

Will there be any significant differences between the Japan and US versions of these games?
BTW I'm hoping to get an Xbox before this game comes out. I have no idea why they included Heihachi as the PS2 exclusive character. I don't care how good you are at hand to hand combat, if someone takes a swing at you with a samuri sword, they win! |
Originally posted by Mitsurugi I'm so there. And I'm boasting a new look. Decker, there's virtually no difference between the japanese version and the US version. The US version has been finished for months, damn strategized marketing. I've played and beaten the Gamecube demo that was on the Preview disc more than dozen times and occasionally pop it in for a SCII fix, this game rocks just a hard if not better than the arcade version. |

Wow! I didn't know that, thats pretty cool.

Ill be getting the GCN versions simply because its the only console I have. And I get Link which is even better. I've played the demo and it was great, it wasnt hard to control I just didn't know what did what or any combos. You guys can go here for pictures or all the characters different costumes and weapons and move. Courtesy of the Soul Calibur II forums

I played the demo on the recent Xbox demo disc & I wasn't that impressed. I don't know much about the history of fighter games but it just seemed like an exact copy of DOA3 with freaks instead of well-endowed girls. Which series came first?
The graphics were pretty & very smooth (far & above Tao Feng or Kakuto Chojin) but DOA3 still seemed a little above it (maybe the outfits are clouding my mind). The fighting seemed like a button masher (which everyone bitched about with DOA3) and the format is the same. Again, I am not a big fighter gamer but after all the hype, it didn't seem that great. Of course this is going just by a demo disc. What did you guys think of the demo? |

I hate the DOA games as well.
It's true you can button mash in the SC games, but you won't get far doing it, especially against someone who knows what they're doing, where as in the DOA games button mashing pretty much always works. |
