GameSpy: So will the original controller still be known as the Xbox Controller?

David Hufford: Yes, Xbox Controller is what we call it.
I will never get those 3 seconds of my life back.

Best Buy has a deal going on this week where if you buy the XBox Controller S + one XBox game, save $20. Too bad there aren't any games I want to buy.

This offer is only good in store.

the ad says when you purchase any "advertised" xbox game. Does that mean this offer only applies to the four games advertised in this weeks ad? or do you think any game will work?

Yeah, it looks like it is only on the six games shown. All of the games are good to get with this deal.

Got the controller, it feels ok in the hands though the PS2 Dual Shock feels a little better. The XBox controller is a little larger than the Dual Shock.

The diamond pattern round buttons with flat tops are MUCH better feeling than the hard curved tops on the original XBox controller. The white and black buttons on the lower right feel like they're inset a bit and harder to press by feel.

I also bought one. My initial reaction is
The four main buttons are too close together and the little black and white buttons are counter sunk or something. A real pain to get to. Now maybe I am just used to the regular "big" xbox controller but so far, I'm sticking with it. Maybe the new "s" model will grow on me....

My brother brought his XBox over to my place today and he had me pick up an S controller for him. For playing Halo, I can't decide which I like better. The S feels just a tad too small while the regular feels a bit too big. Maybe I just am spoiled by the Dual Shock 2. Either way, I don't find the placement of the black and white buttons to be a big problem in Halo. I have to move my thumb off of the right stick to reach them on both controllers so it's no change. I do agree that I wish the B+W buttons weren't sunken in but other than that I like the S controller. I think in the long run I'll prefer the S but I'm just not sure. My brother seems to prefer the S as he's big into sports games and the button layout on the original was tricky for some sports games(he complained about it regarding Madden and All Star Baseball). Either way as long as he's happy that's all that matters as he's the one who owns the system.
