DOA3 is a fighting game. You're not supposed to spend more than two hours fighting up the ladder mode; it's supposed to be done in one sitting. Fighting games get their value when you play against friends. I have DOA2 for PS2, and it ended up getting a lot more play than Tekken Tag because it's easier to pick up.

You should consider Max Payne as well.

I'm not sure if Max Payne has much replay value (his base concern). It can be beaten easily and doesn't really intice you to play it again.

It's one of the most important factors (to me) when deciding on a game purchase. First and foremost, the gameplay. Second, replayability. Hence, Max Payne is not in my Xbox library.

Halo
SSX Tricky (unless you have PS2, then ONLY get it for that system)
Amped (very good as well)
NHL 2002
Madden 2002

I am not partial to PGR, interesting game, i just prefer straight forward racing.
