? Best place to get the X-Box console only ?

I am in need of an X-Box console only (I was given a controller and 8 titles as a present by someone who thought I had an X-Box). Is eBay my best bet? Maybe many are getting bored with their system now?

edit: to fix the word "controller" inside the parentheses.

Are you looking for retail answers? If so Target, Wal-Mart, Electronics Boutique, Toys R Us, Best Buy, Circuity and Funcoland/Babbage-related stores (just to name a few ) all have X-Boxs for sale by themselves in stores.

I don't get it? You were given an Xbox and 8 games but now you want to buy another? Buying on Ebay means either buying used or buying some higher priced new one... just go to a B&M...

I'm guessing he meant to say a "controller" and 8 games?

I wish I was given 8 games...

so it's still hard to find one for say $50 below retail?

Step 1: Give me half of your games.

What? That's it. No more steps.

If you are in the Lebanon, NH area, try Wal-Mart or K-Mart as they don't sell bundles or add tax. I believe Wal-Mart had some this past Friday as I was there to purchase games for my GameCube.

Hope this helps.

It's possible, but from what I've seen on eBay the new console-only auctions are going for between $260-$300+. It's kind of a crapshoot, but I would say your chances of getting one for discount are better than at a B&M.

here in midwest, there seems to be no shortage ... I'd recommend going to Target & opening a Target account (save 10% on first purchase, and I don't think that excludes video game consoles) ...

One of the main reasons I bought the GC at Wal-Mart was the 90 day return policy. If I am not happy with the system, for any reason,I can simply return it if I have the receipt.I figured if I did not like the system,I could return it for a X-box.

Namja's in central Illinois at U of I, though, where there are TONS of gamers. When I did my undergrad there the best buy was always poorly stocked due to high demand of anything videogame-related.

If you want me to I can cruise my area in search of one for you, just LMK.

call me a re-gifter

thanks all. i've decided to (gasp!) give it away to my friend who lives just outside DC. a few of his other friends are pooling their money together to get him the console, and i'm giving him EIGHT games and a controller.

why's he getting all this? b/c whenever we go to DC (i already went 3 times since september), we crash at his place, eat his food (his wife makes great food), and stuff ...
