Test Drive for the Xbox

Anyone remember this franchise? Test Drive. Not to hurt anyone's feelings if you like these games, but I thought they were all pretty terrible. Bad physics and bad AI. The series had nothing on Need for Speed or other racers at the time. Now they're coming out with a new version (like 7 or 8?) but they're dropping the number and starting over. Also - in a recent turn, I think they're going to try to shake the bad taste in people's mouths by changing the name of the game from Test Drive to TD: Overdrive. They're also modeling the game after Fast and the Furious. I still have no faith in this series, but if you put a demo in my hands I'd be glad to play it before passing final judgement. Anyone else besides me think the Test Drive series has been less than interesting? I mean - maybe I'm wrong about Test Drive and it's a really popular series. I'm just curious. I'm a PC gamer at heart, so I have the whole Need For Speed vs. Test Drive thing that you console gamers probably didn't have to think about.

I agree, the Test Drive series blows. Test Drive Wide Open already on the XBox is subpar at best. They will really have to do alot to impress me with the new Test Drive.

I'm more looking forward to Rallisport Challenge for my offroad needs and Sega GT 2002 Online for my street racing needs.

Plus MS might decide to bring the Midtown Madness series over.
