Game music remixed
http://remix.overclocked.org/ pretty cool site that takes your favorite game theme music and gets redone. Some is crap, but some is great. noteworthy songs:
Da Pipes - super mario bros
Dream fighter - Punchout both by scott peeples
take a listen of the FF stuff most of it, (FF1 is the best) is pretty good. makes a nice challenge game in the office, name that video game

Probably my favorite from this site is the Batman NES Music of Funk remix, I really like the Mega Man mixes too. The thing is, I don't listen to songs from games I don't play (or loathe), so the FF remixes remain terra incognita to me.

My favorite is the Chrono Cross Angelic Mix, that one rules!! Very light a fluffy but also has a nice acoustic backing.
Other good ones are the Final Fantasy ones, and especially the Castlevania ones. You'll have to fish through them but your bound to find something you like, there are quite a few! I remember when they first started out they had like 4. It has grown so much I hope to have one of my remixes up there pretty soon, I'm still remastering it before I submit it. I'm having trouble getting my guitar to sound good on the recording but I've almost sorted that issue out.
I try to get any remix by McVaffe, Scott Peeples, or the most excellent guitarist Ailsean, those remixer's rock!
