Does the Animorphic mode boost the resolution if on a 16:9 or a TV with the squeeze? And how about the 16:9 mode on Tricky? How's that look?
Is there anywhere to see some screenshots with the differences?

Well, I know it doesn't make a difference on regular TV's because they can't display any higher resolutions. I don't know about 16:9 TV's connected with component connections. I've never heard anything about the PS2 being able to output anything other than the standard resolution, so I would guess the settings only change the screen size to what you prefer on your certain TV.
On the Xbox however, I would imagine that it would increase resolution on HDTV.

Hmmm...well the cube can put out 480p so it should change on that too..
When I pop it into anamorphic, the screen stays the same size, but stretches it (like a DVD does)... I am only using a crappy TV right now, but soon I'll have a TV with the 16X9 mode... so it should fix that...providing I use component right?

I have a 16x9 screen. It fills the screen like a DVD with no distortion. The PS2 does not put out progressive scan in a 16x9 game with component cables or not. Only Xbox and GC can do that.

I have a 16X9 TV and I'm using the component cables. I seem to recall that the screen is stretched horizontally on SSX Tricky. It's been awhile since I played it, but flipping through the manual right now I don't even see any option to set the game to 16X9 mode. However, this option is available on DOA3, and I can definitely tell that the screen is not stretched horizontally because the moon in the background on some levels is a circle (not an oval).

This is from a post from the home theater forum. It says SSX Tricky is not progressive scan for the cube. I think it is enhanced for widescreen though. Looks like XBox is progressive.
