which dreamcast accessories do you recommend
ok.. so I was in the group that decided to jump on the dreamcast bandwagon at the extremely low current prices..
now Im trying to decide what accessories I want.. my birthday is only a couple weeks away.. and I was thinking some of this crap would be good smaller gifts to suggest to people..
so far I only have.. 2 standard controllers, 2 extention cables, 1 vmu, and an s-video cable
Im thinking I need at least a couple more vmus.. I also think I want one of the arcade style controllers (anyone recommend one?).. havent decided on the other controllers (gun, fishing thing, etc...)... what else is there, that is worth having?

i have a 6 button controller made by performance that i think might be called a "fighterpad", but i'm not sure.
anyway, it's very solid feeling and is a much much more comfortable design than the arthritis inducing standard controller.
came packed with a rumble pack for $20
my new favorite accessory is the controller extension cable. i have them for all my systems now. it's nice to not have to drag them out everytime i want to play. $8-10...maybe cheaper if you're lucky.

also.. can anyone suggest where to get some of these accessories
the local eb had some, but very slim pickings
i bought the extention cables and svideo cable from http://www.consoleaccessories.com/pr...form=Dreamcast
but their selection of dreamcast stuff is not great (great service though, and i liked that I could pay through paypal).

And add Confidential Mission to the list of light gun games.

If you need more controllers, I highly reccomend the Mad Catz Dreampad. It's the only third party controller I've ever liked more than the first party one. The stick is rubber, so your fingers don't slip off of it, it has nice rubber grips on it, and it has 6 buttons on the face, plus the two analog triggers, which is great for fighting games ass it negates having to use the triggers as the two extra buttons are defaulted to be the triggers, though you can program them to do whatever you want.

If you get a light gun i suggest getting the mad catz light gun. the offical light gun by sega was only available in japan so you'll need to go 3rd party on this one. vmu's are your friend you can never have enough vmu's. i have 2 4x cards(for my nfl 2k2 seasons) and 6 vmu's (i have 4 controllers and two guns yes i know very anal) gamepads are good. i enjoy a ocasional 2d fighter romp and need a nice solid gamepad. there is a ascii 6 button gamepad(released with capcom vs snk any import/used shop should have one) not sure if there is a 6 button gamepad release state side. plus don't forget the array of special controllers like the fishing rod and the maracas. only worth it if you are into fishing and samba
