URGENT: eBay and PS2 related (serious, please.)
I'm selling my Playstation 2 (don't ask me why, please!)on eBay, the guy e-mailed me and asked me the questions and I wonder if it's okay to share the information.
And if it's okay to share the information... How do I find the "srews" on the bottom ?? I don't see any screws on it.
Thanks.
I wanted to know what version of Ps2 u have to see if its compatible with my gameshark. Can u tell me:
How many srews it has on the bottom, Date Code, Serial, Model #, and bar code number. With this info i can determine compatibility.
Thanks.

I wouldn't give him that information. You can check to see if your PS2 is compatable or not. Here's all the compatability info I could find over at www.gameshark.com:
It sounds like if your DVD player isn't version 1.30U and your date code isn't 1C it will be compatable with Gameshark. If that isn't good enough for the guy, just don't bother selling to him.
Q: I am getting a message stating that my version of the GameShark2 is not compatible with my PS2 and to contact consumer service.
A: You will receive this message if you have a version of the GameShark2 below 1.4 and a PS2 with a DVD player version of 1.30U. We have an updated GameShark2 CD available to correct this problem. To inquire about ordering this update CD please contact our consumer service dept. at [email protected]
Q: I am getting an error to please insert a PS2 formatted disk when I start my PS2 with the GameShark CD.
A: Sony recently released a new revision of the PS2 with a date code of "1C" (You can check the back of your PS2 to see if you have this revision.) In order to get your SharkPort to work on this revision of the PS2 you will need an updated CD. To inquire about ordering this update CD please contact our consumer service dept. at [email protected]

How do you find out what version of DVD player? I don't see it anywhere on it.
I assume that the date code "1A" have no problem with GameShark 2??
I don't think giving the date code information will harm anything.
