So, where do we stand on VideoGameTalk.com

I think I remember Geoff saying that it was put on hold till after the holidays. It's after the holidays and was just curious as to where we are on things.

I think that fighting for the title to be changed to either Xboxisgreatest.com or GCrulez.com or of course PS2hasmoregames.com is the real sticking point

I think Geoff probably is looking at the financials of such a site. can it support the bandwidth use and of course can it survive the attack of all three fanboys

I hope if he does it he sets up different forums for each game system so that the amount of fighting over who is best will be limited.

Right now my motto on VideoGameTalk is do it right, even if that takes some time.

I've been thinking a lot about how VideogameTalk would work, how we'll host it, and what the next steps are. The result of this will be a pretty comprehensive plan of attack.

Hope to have something to report towards month's end.

My big goal is to have something running well by E3.

Do you want to have it subdivided like IGN or are you going to have it more like Gamespot? I have some good html/web developer skills (no programming skills yet, but good graphic design skills). I consider myself a good writer, in fact I have some sample reviews I could show you.

At this point I like Gamespot's way of dealing with things over IGN

I'm eager to hear your reports Geoff. Now that the holidays are over I have much more time to put in on this project (I work at a dept. store so I was kinda busy with work during the holidays)

I take it you've never been to ign.com. This is how they have their forums set up. Doesn't help limit anything.

no I have never been to the forums at Ign.

so you do not think a moderated site like this with the forums divided would be less likely to have problems than a single forum with all consoles posting in the same one?

I understand that trolls will continue to post in all forums. that is a problem in every forum anyway.

Geoff remember if you want some dvdtalk members to represent the new site at E3 I am willing. I of course would pay my own way as long as i got a pass of course

I think divided forums are alot more organized but it doesn't limit anything. For example, over at IGN they are all seperated and to me it seems like each forum is a different street gang so to speak. The "fanboys" take the forum on like it is there terrioty and anyone who is not a hardcore _______ fan gets bashed all to hell for coming into there forum. Not everyone over is that way though but there is just enough to make it an unpleasent forum.

I would be for a seperated forum by Manuafactuer like over at CloudChaser. Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, and PC (if we decided to do PC games). I think breaking it down even further (by system) is a bit much.
